what is the smallest size tire that would look good on a stock wildtrak? Considering putting on a smaller tire for daily use and having the 35” when I take her off road. Thoughts? I’m a rookie to this. So any insight would be appreciated.

your speedo is going to be off if you do this, just and FYI. Yes you can calibrate using Forescan but do you want to do that each time you change tires?

Oh yeah that’s a good point. Would the increase in gas mileage be enough to justify doing that?

Assume you get 15 mpg and fuel is $5 a gallon (it
Swapping tires and you get 20 (you won’t pick up 5mpg)

that’s 666 gallons vs 500 gallons or 166 ‘saved’ gallons

That’s 830 you would save in fuel.

also keep in mind that tires dry-rot whether used or not. Assume it would take 2-3 years to break even on fuel if you could somehow get 2.5mpg.

I’m running 35” Yokohama xmt and just went to Moab and the two people who went with me in the same setups but on stock tires (35) at best got 2-3mpg better and that’s following me the entire way
2 of us with 2.3 and one 2.7 all 2 door badlands Sasquatch

also I had a passenger who weighs 90lbs and close to 300lbs in gear…. So I was also heavier

I avg about 17.0 if I stay out of the turbos and minimize driving around town. I weigh well over 6K lbs with my metalcloak skid system and bumper upgrade. My tires are 33 lbs each heavier than stock Goodyears. Your Dashboard | Fuelly

315-70-17. In my opinion anything smaller on squatch wheels at squatch ride height looks funny. Maybe the 33s that are standard on the Badlands wouldn’t look too bad, but still a little small. In all vehicles, stance is everything!

I guess I don’t drive enough for it to really mattered. And you’re right, the stance sets the appearance aside from every other vehicle. Good call.
