The next closest option is $650. I‘ve owned a Stealthbox before, to me it’s worth the cost of entry. I’m hoping it’s in the $830 range of this one for the Jeep and doesn’t include a Bronco tax. They should be able to make mold off the B&O box, so hopefully there isn’t that much engineering it in that increases the cost.

What’s the next closest option you speak of? Got a link?

I had randomly picked some Ford, and I guess it happened to pick the most expensive one at almost $1,200.

But most of their Ford are around the $800 range, with their mustangs being very close to $1,000.

I doubt by the time you add the Bronco tax this would be a cheap speaker, so some of those other options already out there are looking like a better deal.

I agree that JL will not be the cheapest option, but I think it will be well engineered. The SRQ with the square sub looks better to me than the audiodesignscq option, and I prefer that they are using a name brand woofer. The laminated layers of MDF wouldn’t hold up if they get wet, a significant concern for a vehicle with a removable roof. I would add a layer of fiberglass resin to the exterior.

I can’t find a pic of the SRQ with the stock amp for the B&O system. Also I struck out on trying to find reviews. Wondering if it’s a rattle monster with the L7 in there

The one thing that soured the B&O route for me was the reports of all the rattling coming from the enclosure. My assumption is that JL is going to take this into consideration with their design as well. I'm just curious if they're going to build something that will 'hide' underneath the trunk side panels, or if it's going to be a full-scale panel replacement. A full replacement would probably be the best route for minimizing rattling.

While Kicker is a mainstream brand, Audiomobile has been around for decades and makes solid products also. I would put the Evo 8 they use in that enclosure up against a JL 8W3 and would give the edge to the Audiomobile with greater XMAX. I think the Kicker may be a bit louder, but the Audiomobile is going to have less distortion and sound a bit more accurate depending on the enclosures.

So it looks like the Stealthbox will be a single 10TW1... I think I will just get a custom one built because a 4 door SUV needs more than that.

I don't know. My Wrangler 4 door has a 6x9 ( or maybe it's a 5x7) sub as part of the Alpine system and the bass is way more than enough for people IN the Jeeps. But if you are looking for the other cars around yours to feel your bass as well, then agreed, you need a larger sub.

I think a single 10” will be fine for my needs, at least it’s not an 8”. The 10TW1 should be ideal for the application and will work fine with the Kicker Key 500.1 amp I was looking to install. It’s designed for a .35 ft3 enclosure, so about right for what’s available. My main concern is avoiding rattles from mounting behind the panel. Anything is possible with enough foam and sound deadening material.

If it’s the one in the cargo tub it’s an 8 by 12, designed to match output of 2 8’s.

Alma was fantastic, used to chat with her back in the early 2000’s. I preferred the PPI build of the Bronco though.
