The dealer told me it’s an idiosyncrasy of the 10 speed transmission and is “normal”. Frankly I’ve Never had that in any of my previously owned cars….

I am experiencing the same issue with my 2025 Bronco Raptor. When I come to a complete stop and again when I release the brake -- the truck gives a noticeable bump, stump or jolt. It feels exactly like what @murrman described, almost as if a bowling ball in the back seat rolls forward just as the vehicle finishes stopping or starts moving again.

@Ford Motor Company - there are numerous reports online describing this same issue. It’s an impressive truck, but this problem makes it frustrating to drive a $100K vehicle. Is there a real fix for this? I am reluctant to take it to the dealer because I"m expecting the usual “we couldn’t replicate the issue” response.

Please advise and thank you!

It’s the rear driveshaft. Well documented issue

I’ve read through the threads about the rear driveshaft, but some owners say the issue eventually comes back even after the driveshaft is replaced. Others mention lubricating the slip yoke as a temporary fix. Has anyone here actually had this problem resolved permanently?

No, not that I’m aware of. The problem will always return.

The only potential alternative option is an aftermarket shaft

My 2025 BRaptor only has 3,000 (three K) miles on it, and I started noticing this bump roughly 500 miles ago. If the issue comes back even after replacing the rear driveshaft, then that isn’t a real fix... Its more like what others have described, where greasing the slip yoke only masks the problem for a few thousand miles.

I never said there was a real fix short of continuing to replace the driveshaft. I just said that’s what the problem is.

If you want a real fix, you’ll need to look into aftermarket alternatives because there is no permanent fix from Ford.

So, Ford will just keep replacing rear driveshafts under warranty?? But if the same component is swapped out multiple times and the issue still comes back, it raises the question of whether this situation could fall under Lemon Law. I have tagged @Ford Motor Company here as well, hopefully they can offer their perspective or at least acknowledge what’s going on.

I am 53 and have owned plenty of vehicles over the years, including multiple Jeep JKUs, and I’ve never run into anything like this, much less been told it’s “normal” the way some people on other forums have reported their dealers saying. I’m new to the Bronco world and genuinely like the truck, but this bump or “thump” issue is nowhere close to being normal for a 10‑speed transmission, the Bronco’s size, or any other explanation a dealer might try to give. There is clearly something going on. Whether it’s the driveshaft, lack of grease in the slip yoke, transmission programming, or something else entirely, I can say with confidence that this behavior isn’t normal...

You’re going to need to contact Ford directly, because they’re no longer on this forum:

I reached out to @Ford Motor Company through the chat on Ford.com, and of course they said this was the first they’d heard of it and suggested taking the truck to a dealer for a full diagnostic... That’s exactly what I expected and something I already knew before coming to this forum a few hours ago and talking with Ford directly.

What I’m really looking for now is input from people who’ve actually dealt with this: those who had the issue in the past, are dealing with it right now, and what you did (or are doing) to address it.
