Yes, but I also triple checked with my glass place during the process.
For my wrangler, my insurance would only replace with OEM glass for the first year (maybe 2?). Somehow, in 10 years and 150Kmiles, I've never had a chip. I wanted to replace the windshield just because of the tiny scratches that happen to every windsheild over time. I didn't want to spend extra however to lose the wrangler graphics on the glass.

RANT: I got a chip on my windshield about two months ago. It immediately spread across the entire windshield. Due to backorder, it took 4 weeks to get replaced. I own a Wrangler, so I patiently understand the vertical windshield problem.

I've been driving with my brand-new windshield for 3 weeks. Yesterday: Another chip, and hours later it had spread across the entire windshield. This morning: ANOTHER CHIP.

I avoid semis, don't tailgate, and leave massive gaps between myself and other cars because I didn't want another chip. Now I have two in 24 hours and am going on my second windshield in 7 weeks.

At some point, this has to be a glass problem and not a vertical windshield problem, no?

TAKE MY POLL. Ha ha. Thanks for listening.
Good afternoon! Could you privately message us with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd like to check into your windshield concern on my end. Thank you!

I put the aeroskin II deflector on the day i brought my Bronco home.
I don't know if that's helped or not, but no chips so far.
There is a small 'chunk' that something took out of the deflector, so it at least saved me a hood ding.
(I'm sure today is the day I get a broken windshield...)
Where do you get something like that?

Was late for a meeting today, first time I had the Bronco out on the highway running wide open trying to get to the office.

80-85 mph, no concern for semis......BBBBAAAAAPPPPP.....didn't see it but I heard it.

Was late to the meeting because I was obsessively looking over the windshield for the chip or crack but couldn't find one.

I bet the windshield is going to one giant spider web when I get out there today.

Installed mine Monday… today I have a chip/crack 🤦🏻‍♂️
i'm thinking a sheet of plexiglass hinged from the front edge of the hood to the top of the windshield is starting to look like good idea

1,000 miles on a 10 day old..... boom, no see, no hear, stop for gas and as I'm jumping back in, there it was..... a 5" crack which has traveled to 12 while parked for 2 days. Wacked!

Was OEM ford part from what you can tell? Thanks for feedback!
It was Ford OEM, but did get the impression that non-OEM units are in the works at SafeLite.
