Made a short video the first time I took off the doors of my 2 door Badlands. Learned a few things in the process, hopefully this can help some of you prevent damage and make it a better process!

From what I recall of the Ford video on this, the protectors are intended to go one on the door and one on the front fender in the gap between them. They also show putting the bag on the door while it's on the vehicle.

Great video, thanks for doing these.

Hahaha. Now that you say that, I remember that too. Oh well, that's what you get when you skip the instructions and just wing it!

I've seen more people damage the corners of their doors tho unfortunatly. As long as you lift straight up, you're good. I probably won't even use those anymore.

And I actually forgot them on the doors for about 2 days once I reinstalled haha.

Yeah, I could see forgetting them on there!

I haven't messed with the bags yet. Did you get those? Would they help protect the corner or are they just cloth with no real protection?

Great video! Does anyone know if the bags are standard with any models/options?

I don't have my Bronco yet, but when I take my Jeep doors off, a drywall carrier comes in very handy. I put a piece of pipe insulation on the carrier so there is no chance of scratching anything.

I wonder if anyone will make quick disconnect for the door. I have the doors off my 73 and hate the look. Going to be a pain to line them back up. But the 6G looks good with out the doors.

You had to order the door bags with the vehicle. It is a hard top only option. I had my dealership add it to my soft top order. Got the 4 bags and the inside storage harness for $350.

Good video, nice to see "real world" footage of what it is like in an uncontrolled environment, messing with the tool kit, figuring out the correct tools (all the first time, after that it's ingrained in your memory forever).

I also recall them suggesting popping the mirrors forward beforehand (might prevent some scratches the next time ya do it).
Good to see you timing this stuff as well.

So I figured it was time I pull the bags from the plastic and check them out. Good heavy duty kind of a waxed canvas feel outer, soft liner, good reinforcement/protection at the bottom corners (shown). If they didn't come with it I definitely would buy them.

Thank you. Yes, I never liked the "Lab coat" this is how you do it videos. Great info, but it's nice to see real world application.

And Yea, bending the mirrors forward would definetly be a great idea!

I'll add all these suggestions in the comments of the video so people can see.

I'm looking at the accessories and don't see these exact bags. Not sure if they're out of stock or not available yet. The garage storage bags shown seem to be a little different. My bags don't have the foam insert at the bottom mentioned in the description of the accessory bags linked above. Mine have multiple handles at various locations.
