Love mine. I am topless all summer long and it does a good job keeping direct sun off of the leather so my butt doesn't burn when I get it. No flapping. I am also a doors off guy so I don't need the top off too! Back seat kids appreciate the less wind. I have a custom Sasquatch with aviators on mine and love it. Not for everyone, but I am sold.

Yeah, I'm going to have some type of shade. With my Jeep I had a soft top and soft doors so going open air was an every day thing. I had a Bimini under the sun rider.

The $40 one I installed today almost came right back off but it's raining so I'll at least take it for a drive tomorrow. I've had Dirty Dog 4x4 and Alien SunShade on Jeeps but they are similar in design to the one in installed today and don't accommodate the Raptors additional bracing.

I also really like the edge to edge coverage of the JTops but I also expect that is a reason it requires velcro along the sides.

Even in the video Johnny posted (which I've already watched multiple times) you can tell he really likes the top but isn't thrilled about the velcro.

With a hardtop, is it possible to disconnect the bungees for the front row and middle row panels to reinstall the hardtop, but keep the bungees under the rear shell installed and rolled up when not in use?

We rarely would remove the rear shell, but like to remove the panels above the seats and want a sunshade. My other option would be alien sunshade or 4x4attitude.

I haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet, but this week's brutally hot weather is inching me closer. Not sure which I dislike least - the velcro or the bungee balls - with a $100+ price difference as well.

I got a $40 Amazon bungee ball, gap all around, sunshade to try before splurging for something else. I don't see how similar "name brand" shades sell for the prices they are asking. Forty bucks for a Chinese sunshade was a no brainer, even if it lasts one season. JTops velcro was a no go for me.

I would stay clear of JTops. 12 month warranty and when it tears at the seam after 14 months, you are SOL. The front flap pops up all the time when driving, hence why it tore.

I had a spiderweb with the balls for 4 years, never had a issue. They were not making them for the bronco, or I would have bought 1

Here’s some pictures of how it fits with the extra Raptor bracing. Out of the 16 connection points only 6 are actual spider balls. The rest are directly fastened to the shade and either have a hook end or loop around a thumb screw that threads into the existing factory holes.

Is yours installed correctly? there is no way for flop as the front of the Jtop goes under the latch locks WITH 2 locking clamps on top of that to prevent any flop.. from your pic, it looks like your's installed upside down.

Only 1 way to install it. Unless they put the velcro on the wrong side. Must have been a design change.

I tried the besttop bimini and it was junk. I bought the jtops and it's better but I had to put felt pads under the magnets in the rear to dampen the loud slapping sound they make. I don't like the saggy front when you fold it back to put the top back on either. but, it seems to be the best overall option.

Do all bungees look replaceable if/when they wear out and are not tight? It is hard to see the bottom side of bungees that do not have the balls.

The non-spiderball bungees have Stayput written on the top side of them. I just did a quick google search and found this.

So it looks like they are replaceable. Also looks like SpiderwebShade sells replacements as well, but it looks like they only have the spiderballs on their website currently. I'm guessing they will be available on their site at a later date or they would sell you replacements if you reached out to them. The top itself has a 10 year warranty but I'm assuming that doesn't cover the bungees.

Thanks. Do you think you could grab the hardtop handles through the mesh to open and close? I saw an old video for alienshades do this for the rear handles on the front panels.
I really want to keep a sunshade installed under the hardtop permanently.
