Welcome, This is nothing more than a thread to track oil changes, mods and the occasional maintenance item.

Final Thoughts:

If there was only a Base available to me, I’d do it all again! What a fun vehicle this has been. I can’t overstate how capable the platform is out of the box with a decent set of tires. After owning a few Subarus I’m used to the gremlins and ghosts of modern cars, and the Fords appear to be no different.

The Badlands has landed, which means this thread will come to an end for updates. As always, this Base was an interim rig and the next Bronco chapter starts now!

Badlands Build Journal

---------------------
Boreal Base:

Interim Rig:
2021 2DR Base, 2.3T, 7 Speed
Carbonized Gray
No Options

Current Mod List:

17x9 +12 Black Rhino Warlord
Falken Wildpeak AT3W 285/70R17
MRT Trail Rated Turn Down Axleback
Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro Combo (Ditch Lamps)
Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro Driving (High Beam Assist)
Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro SAE Fogs
Sasquatch Flares

Well, my dealer proposed the dream deal. Ive picked up this 2DR CG Base with No Options. Whenever my Order arrives, we trade out. Some minor mods will be installed on this Bronco, it will be a platform used to develop some unique lighting brackets, Molle Panels, a rear storage/sub box, etc. On order are some KMC Canyons wrapped in Falken Wildpeak AT3W 285/70R17, the 4.46 Gearing should turn the 33's without too much issue.

This weeks project on the Bronco: LIGHTS!

From paper to product, I machined some simple brackets out of aluminium, rattle canned them, installed an Auxbeam Fuseblock and am awaiting some RAM stuff in the mail to make the mounting arm for the Interior Auxbeam Switch Panel; The lights still need to get dialled into position. Once my fogs show up and I get them in, We'll get out for some aerial shots.

Beauty Shots first, In Process Shots Second, and some Fun shots finally.

The temperatures dropped to -40 again this week. Had an issue crop up again, I suspect the transfer case is not fully disengaging from 4H to 2H in the cold, its a big WHIRRRR/Ratcheting that's speed related. It threw some powertrain faults; a vehicle restart always solved the issue. Ive got an appt. booked for them to check it out.

I finally got the DD SS3's all aligned and in place. Next time the Bronco gets a wash Ill get out for some night shots. The double pod setup provides excellent coverage and having Zone control is neat, Im excited to do this all again on the Badlands.

7,700KMS, the starter packed it in. Roadside assistance and warranty came to the rescue. Only six days in the shop for that, a wiring repair and an oil change to boot. Its back in action, we've found some Lynx and the Sas flares came in!

"Rocklamps, cause the mall can always use more lighting... " Had me dying of laughter. I have 4 LP6 lights on my truck and love them. I ran into the Baja Design guys at a truck show and they are in the process of adding them to the Bronco bumper the staff owns. Great list you came up with. All quality items.

Up until the aftermarket lights, we have the same build. I'm going to be putting infrared lights and a receiver on my front end. Then just gotta keep it in Baja mode or figure out how to keep it up on the screen. Hoping to see a grill guard soon for maximum coverage and protection from striking deer. Then getting the roush level 2 2.3l performance upgrade kit once they port it over from the ranger. Also needs proper combo rock slides + side steps.

I have an OnX6 30” DC on my FXT and have loved it, except the fact that it’s so bright it’s very selective in use. I’m pumped to have High and Low on the LP series and in general more control of independent zones

Nothin much to update on the Base as of late, I installed some fogs and that's about it. After hearing the rumours of Sasquatch constraints (all other parts will be allocated for non-sas Badland builds) got the news that my order was assigned its VIN, had already been built and is now in transit - Canadian OEM's appears to be much slower on communication than their US counterparts on most fronts.

Until the Badlands shows up, a few more moments with the Base

I cannot convey how awesome some of these pics are.
I have no illusions that I'd ever be able to get these kind of wildlife shots, but what kind of setup were you using to get the shots of you plowing through the snow?

I've been wondering about the cowl mounting positions lately, particularly with regard to an antenna mount. Did you find that the Bronco bolts were really sufficient to secure a mount there on their own, or would you recommend some sort of lock washer or something similar?
(Just seems too good to be true that I could simply remove a bolt, throw a mount or bracket there, thread the bolt back in, and have everything be secure enough for a trail.)

These pics are nutty! Not that I'm going to understand a single part of the answer to this question but I'll ask it anyhow. Whats the camera and lens specs?

That feeling when your Bronco arrives at the dealership:

Awesome pictures!
I hope to be feeling like a Pup plowin through powder in a few weeks when the Badlands arrives!

I primarily run a Gripped Nikon D850 w/ a Nikon 500mm f5.6PF. I find it versatile and light enough for the day hikes and whatever they may bring.

Regarding the Cowl mounts - in short, they are stout enough for dual SS3's, hell, you could probably put dual SS5's up there with a good mounting bracket and you won't have any issue. The Billet piece I machined has a large contact patch and is very stable; I used the stock M6x1 bolts to snug the mounts to the cowl and some M6x1 with lock washers to attach the SS3's to the mount. The roughest roads around Manitoba haven't budged the lights or caused any vibration during use!

Amazing photos!

Thank you all for the kind words about the shots! These Built Wild Broncos really help make each (day)trip even better than before.
