Interesting (and sobering!) to see how some Broncos have been totaled or otherwise destroyed.

Like this torched Bronco, probably caught in a fire:

Or this Base, which took it on the chin, but the passenger airbag seems to have failed to deploy. The side passenger airbag inflated... does that mean we know someone was sitting there?

Same with this Base, where both front airbags seem to have failed, but the side curtains deployed
https://www.copart.com/lot/48083152/salvage-2021-ford-bronco-base-co-denver

It looks like something got dropped onto the back of this one, but the bars seem to be in pretty good shape

Tree fall?

It's impressive to see how little it takes for Geico to total their vehicles out. There are some on here that look perfectly repairable. I see quite a few clear totals with questionable airbag deployment, which has me a little uneasy.

Most likely the airbags not deployed were by design and not a failure. They only deploy when the computer senses impact from certain directions.

This is quite intriguing. Any way to find out what these actually sell for at auction close?

These pictures broke my heart. These young Broncos with still so much life in them have been destroyed at the prime of their lives. A few of these still have the original fuel fill in them. It does seem strange to me that a vehicle that is supposed to be a tough off roader is so easily totaled out by the insurance company. Or is Geico totaling out these Broncos in order to make more money at auction? They have that one with an estimated value of $82k+ Now don't get me wrong, a 2022 Wildtrak is pricey, but $82k? Where do they come up with that value, their hind ends? If Geico pays off the loan say for $59k and can auction it off for $61k does that mean they get to keep the extra $2k? Is this how it works when the vehicles appreciate like the Bronco has been doing?

The red BL 2D still has a dealership paper tag. Like it was destroyed while on the lot. A few of the others appear to be roll overs while on a trail or rock crawl. Side air bags deployed while steering wheel or pass side did not. I like how the estimated values ( pre crash) are sky high.

On newer vehicles, when it is difficult to get parts, time to repair also factors in when insurance is making their write offs. If a driver has a policy where the insurance company has to pay for a rental car while their vehicle gets repaired, a X month rental is big bucks so they'll just write it off.

The passeger airbag won't deploy if it doesn't detect enough weight in the front seat.
