If you haven't done the doors yet, it would be good to get a feel or reading of before and after. Do you think the sound deadening on the wheel wells were the biggest bang for the buck? Do you have plans for the top?

Following just to get ideas for the future.

Did you put any killmat in the doors?
Not yet, i ran out of the siless foam material, but i should have another shipment in a day or so.
I know I'll be adding probably about 5lbs of weight per door, but it's not too bad, and should help the sound.

I'm considering something similar...just to dampen the hollow sound going over bumps with the top on. Curious why you used kilmat and silex. I assume you used the felt on the plastic because it's lighter weight?
The siless will help insulate the cabin, and block some of the noise. I did use the felt on the plastic due to its weight, I've used the killmatt and felt in my modified raptor and it helps a ton, this is the first time using the siless, but based on how she sounds on the installed parts vs bare... well worth it. It's also water proof and won't absorb any water in case it gets damp inside.

Since i haven't done the doors yet, the wheel wells are a huge bang for the buck on the 2 door. I have not gotten a 4 door stripped down yet, so the structure maybe a little different. In hind sight, next time i remove the rear panels I'm going to seal up the cavity with a cover and insulate that as well, that should just about eliminate all noise from that area.

The hardtop wind noise is a different beast.
One reason I really want to see the decibel readings too, because the top disguises a lot of body noise.

This weekend i decided to tackle the higher than used to road noise levels on our 2 door. After gutting the interior i am surprised that other than the carpet there is nothing to help keep outside noise at bay.

Taking the interior apart was fairly easy and took under 2 hours to get it done, after a good cleaning of all the panels it was time to lay some killmat down followed by some silex foam, and some sound absorbing felt material on the plastic panels and wheel well cavity. The rear wheels line up pretty close to your ears on the 2 door, i was surprised that there is nothing there to help with the road and tire noise. All the panel clips were lines with tesa tape before reinstalling. I still have the doors to get done(ran out of material) ,but even now the drop in road noise is very noticeable, and the bronco feels more solid.

As long as we had the interior apart we also replaced some of the speakers, the B&O is lacking and the Infinity speakers made it sound much much better.

Overall a good rainy weekend project

Cost+scheduling time, getting this done quickly for a road trip in a couple of weeks.

Man there must be a big difference in noise in them. Mine is quiet. Outer Banks mic with no roof rack.
It may not be that bad. We have been driving a gen 3 raptor lately and it may have us kinda spoiled with how quiet it is.

I will be receiving a two door (someday) .. Please, how many square yards did it take to complete the interior, if thats how they sale the mats ? You chose Siless over Dynamat, any reason? I consider this project, a first must do....Thank you, in advance for the valuable info.

Did you weigh the amount of material you added to the truck?
