Just to clarify, the beauty rings are definitely T45 Torx, NOT Torx plus?
Correct! I thought they were; based on the Bronco bolts, but they are not.

Good deal. My AMB Basesquatch is supposed to be built this week. I have the T45 Torx, and ordered the Torx plus yesterday. It sounds like I will need them both. I am going to powder coat the beauty rings, and I have already purchased a grab handle, since the base does not have one.

Just an FYI for anyone planning on working on their bronco with the Torx bolts on it.

They are a mix of Torx and Torx PLUS. Torx PLUS is not the same as Torx even though they are the same size.

Take off your beauty rings with a T45 Torx bit and you risk stripping them at worst and frustration with the bit "camming out" at best.

Wheel trim rings are regular Torx. Bronco bolts are Torx+

I talked to TWO different auto parts stores. The individuals I talked to had never heard of Torx PLUS and assured me that Torx bits would work fine.

$24 to me is a cheap investment to make sure you have the right tools for the job: https://smile.amazon.com/Neiko-10086A-Tp8-Steel-Socket/dp/B004UC9WJE/

Apologize if this posts belongs somewhere else but I feel like it should be more prominently displayed if it is somewhere else.
Thanks for the US alternative, just ordered!

Yes. Sorry if I threw you off with my initial post. Some bolts on the Bronco are Torx+ and some are regular Torx.

Torx Plus = TP45

I believe Bronco Bolts are TP27
Can anybody confirm this? I ordered a TP45 (got the size from another thread here) and it doesn't fit. I don't have any others to size it to so hoping someone in this thread has done this and has the right size to pass on. Thanks!

There is another thread about this right now as well. You will need several different Torx+ bits and at least 1 standard Torx (that was supplied with my kit). The various size bits are listed in that thread. I purchased a Torx+ 40 for my modular bumper and it worked.

In that thread they are saying NOT to get TP bits. Apparently there are Torx, Torx+ and TP Torx.

Oh damn! $459 for a set of 11 bits! I don't buy cheap tools! But that's a little much! I think I might have to go to the place where the Surgeon in training get's his tools!🤯
The surgeon milks the insurance companies to pay for his tools. Snap On is a money grab. They make most of their money conning young mechanics into going into debt with their in house credit program to buy their over priced tools. I spent the past 26+ years working in the skilled trades. I still have many of the tools I bought as an apprentice in the late 1990’s - used on countless jobs over the years. None are Snap On. Buy reputable brand tools with decent warranties - avoid brands that have traveling salesmen - like Snap On. You will avoid getting ripped off.
