Towing a car with brand new Bronco, advice needed....

I am picking up my Bronco tomorrow, in PA, and I might need to tow a car back home, to AZ. I have a Ford Fusion, that I also need to get back to AZ. Since the Bronco will be brand new, is it even advisable to try and do this? I am concerned about the break in periode and over stressing a new Engine. I almost forgot, it's a 2.7L. Thoughts?

Bronco is rated for 3500lbs. The car alone probably weighs that much plus another 1500-2000lbs for the trailer. I wouldnt go across town much less across country.

Nope, brand new vehicle with low towing capacity. I have towed a ton a trailers with my trucks and don’t even think about it until I’ve put at least 1k on the motor and trans, not to mention the rotors and pads. Bad idea in my opinion. But you gotta do what you gotta do.

Thanks, i thought as much. I will have it shipped to AZ. The car isn't even worth that much, but it's still cheaper than me buying a beater to use aside from the Bronco.

Road trips are awesome. Make sure you have the correct air pressure in the tires, fill that sucker up vary your speed on the Highway for the trip and when you get home change the oil. You will then have a perfectly broke in vehicle to use and abuse. Enjoy the trip. Make the most of it if you can.

The owners manual stays to not tow anything for the first 1000 miles and I also wouldn’t tow anything until after your first oil change.

Gonna weigh more pulling up through the mountains. Trade it in on the Bronco.

If you do decide to tow it... think flat and boring.

• I-70 to St Louis
• I-44 to Oklahoma City
• I-40 to Amarillo
• I-27 through Lubbock to Midland/Odessa
• I-20 then I-10 to Tucson
• Tuscon up to Phoenix.

No Rocky Mountains, no climb to Flagstaff, etc. etc.

Best would have been to fly one way to PA and drive Bronco home. But, sounds like you are already there. Park the fusion at a big mall in PA. Drive the Bronco home. Get a cheap one way ticket back to PA in a week or two and drive the fusion back.

Yeah definitely don't tow another vehicle and with a non broke in Bronco.

Fly, bus, friend, rent a uhaul/car that you can leave there.

The one downside is if you happen to get one of the Broncos that break down right away you would have had extra transportation (knock on wood)
