You could just install one of these for $30 and control it from your phone with an app. I have a few old cars and put one of these in to use. It also allowed me to take the remote out of my Wrangler and not worry about someone snatching it to open my door. Wish I would’ve installed it years ago.

I did consider this. I live in a gated complex with an old traditional gate opener to which I only have a remote. Homelink is the only option I found

Got it, it's a pain, grab phone, unlock phone, find app, open app, press button vs press button. Now if it was integrated with Android Auto, it would be perfect...

That makes sense. I was thinking garage door, not gate.

Another option:
Homelink Mirror

Similar to the Toyota mirror, but offers home automation integration via Bluetooth/app.
I've got one in a Subaru we own and like the features. Will be adding to the Bronco.

So, you're saying I can have 6 buttons now with my visor homelink? Too good!

Is it wired or battery powered?

It would be nice if MyQ or other automated tech would have a button on the screen of CarPlay/AndroidAuto so you can just hit the button on the screen. My concern with this is the non-replaceable battery. Seems like a nice and easy install though.

Agreed. That is my main gripe about MyQ. It would seem so simple to fully integrate a simple push button into CarPlay to serve as a virtual garage door opener.

Ok, I have a stupid question. It has been so long since I ordered my WT with Lux that I just plain don't remember. Do all levels of Bronco come with the "Flippy Thing" on the bottom to adjust for headlights behind you? I haven't had a car with one of those in it for at least 20 some years, they all have had a self darkening feature about them. Did I order a Bronco with a "Flippy Thing" after all these years?

That's kind of funny if I did. :D :ROFLMAO:
