Looking at getting a 2024 Bronco,
Trying to figure things out with differences on trim.

Big Bend - lowest trim. Cannot get lux package? Suspension is set up a little more for offroading?
Black Diamond - Same as Big Bend but set up to be more offroading? - rubber floors, standard aux. switches, bigger axles and tires which accounts for the horrible gas mileage even with 2.3?
Outer Banks - Less off road, more passenger friendly environment? Copilot is standard? Auxiliary switches are optional, Less stout suspension, Can get lux package?

These are basically the 3 trims I am looking at as everything else is out of my price range.

Is paying $49,000 for an Outerbanks with mid package worth it over a $45,000 Big Bend with mid package?
Big Bend, Black Diamond, and Outer Banks (all with the mid package) differ less than you might think in late 2024, it's a different story if you are looking at a 2023 Bronco.

They all have the same Hitachi suspension unless you get the Sasquatch package. If you get the locking rear differential, there is nearly no significant difference between the 4.27 and 4.46 differentials (4%). So for example, if you are spinning the engine at 2000 rpm with the 4.27, you would be turning 2080 rpm with the 4.46 rear... That's noise.

Don't look at the trims so much, look at the features and the price point. The Black Diamond does have additional skid plates, but for light off-roading, it is not a big deal and easily added later. I got my standard set skid plates for under $200 from others on my OBX, but I paid extra for the Raptor transmission skid plate (which is not part of the standard set).

If you are seriously looking at $49k, I would urge you to consider the Heritage Edition Bronco for just a few bucks more because of the Sasquatch package, unless you must have adaptive cruise control. It's possible to add adaptive cruise control to an older (pre-2024) Bronco with the high package, but I am unsure about the outcome using the mid package.

I have the Outer Banks lux package without the Sasquatch package and it is very capable off-road (but I also have the 2.7 engine, advanced 4x4 transfer case, and rear locker). The bottom line is that it's very capable despite the lack of a front locker. It's even more capable after a bunch of FORSCAN tweaks and other minor modifications.

The one thing that would be a pain to change is the flooring, so if you want wash out floors, get one that is not carpeted from the factory.

In my mind, for a late 2024, I would probably pick the non-sasquatch Badlands as my first choice, Heritage Edition second, and Black Diamond third. I love my Outer Banks, but since removing the 2.7, advanced 4x4 transfer case, cloth seats, and the 2 door; it's not the vehicle to get any more.

I would love to get a Badlands, as that is what I currently have in my Sport, but the extra $11,000+ won't work. I was wanting to stay in the $45K range and only go up to $49K as a max. $56,000 is the lowest priced 4 door Badlands with a hard top I could find.

Can anyone explain this?
Mid packages show they include Copilot360
Lux package shows it includes Adaptive Cruise

So is the only way you can get Adaptive Cruise is with the lux package on an Outer Banks or Badlands?

Well, unless you want to get the WildTrak lux, Heritage Limited, or Bronco Raptor. This is the only reason I ended up with an Outer Banks.

If you are willing to consider a non-sasquatch 2023 Bronco Outer Banks hardtop with the lux package and advanced 4x4; you should find it around $45-50k, but you will have to really look.

The VIN for what you want will all start with 1FMEE5D or 1FMDE5D. Most likely 1FMEE5D. All of the E5D Broncos will be 4 doors and have the advanced 4x4 transfer case.

Pretty stupid for Ford to make advanced 4x4 only available on mostly off-road setups. You're leaving out a huge demographic of people that use the vehicle for commuting and would love the added safety of a more AWD setup.

Black Diamond: steel bumpers and bash plates, aux switches, bigger better looking aggressive tires. Mid pack a must. Good value for the money.

You still have to get sasquatch package on Black Diamond to get Advanced 4x4. Plus the gas mileage is horrible.

The gas mileage is no different on the BD vs the OB or the BB. Get a Prius if you’re worried about gas mileage. It’s a B R O N C O.

LOL, Some truth to that. It's psychological to see the Highway mileage under 20.
