Actually glide ratio of Cessna 172 = 9:1If it was a Cessna high wing that sucker would glide for miles lol
of Grumman Tiger =10.3:1…….not to be too pedantic about it.

The shop that did the engine rebuild on my 335i recommended LiquiMoly oil, and that’s what I’ve been using in it since. Interesting.Did you notice the high Molly? They put extra from the factory, (pretty typical) to help new engines.
This is one of my arguments as to why I'm against draining the factory oil too soon.
To compare, my Oil Analysis for a different car, well broke in and using Mobil 1 has a Moly of only 71.
I know this isn't comparing apples to apples because this is an entirely different engine, but I do 10k oil changes with mobile one and this was a 50k lab result...

Nice, that's the pre-Avidyne G1 era isn't it?
I'd like to think so, but I'm sporting a 2002 model. I spend my money on duct tape and touch up paint.
I was lucky enough to get the Avidyne MFD, which is still working by the way!Nice, that's the pre-Avidyne G1 era isn't it?
You are most correct. In the aviation world, 'take off is optional, landing is mandatory'.I do Blackstone analysis at each oil change in my Grumman Tiger. A single report doesn’t mean much but trends can reveal a great deal.
Engine failure at 8500ft often doesn’t end well.
Thanks for posting. I just sent in my first sample from my first oil change that I did at 1700 miles. be curious to see how we all compare.Updated with 2nd oil analysis
21195 is my Julian date. I've used regular fuel for the most part. Kirkland synthetic oil (Costco) for both oil changes. First oil filter was a WIX, 2nd (one I just installed) is a Motorcraft. Thanks for posting. Can you post your engine data from the label? The julian build date to be precise. I hate going down rabbit holes but with some well documented failures over a relatively short build timeframe I'd be curious if any of us show different wear characteristics based on that.
Also, what oil did you use after your first change and are you sticking to premium fuel?
You should try out a helicopterAlways makes me think of this
Can't say I've tried in an Arrow, but the hershey bar wing Cherokee I'm doing CPL lessons in drops like a flying manhole cover.
Our neighbor is a Grumman owner. They attend every get together. You ever attend? You may know them.I do Blackstone analysis at each oil change in my Grumman Tiger. A single report doesn’t mean much but trends can reveal a great deal.

Doubt I’ll ever wind up with the add-on rating, but I’d love to take a lesson or two some day!You should try out a helicopter
