When off-roading, do you use goat modes or do you manually configure your Bronco?

I always manually control everything. Maybe the next time I get a chance I'll try some of the modes since they change up throttle response too.

Goat dial is for sales person presentation as a selling feature.

For shifting between 4L and 4H I just use the shifter. The only goat modes I use are normal and sport even though with forscan I have all of them. I do use eco during heavy traffic as I like the lower throttle response but doubt it saves any mpgs.

First time I put into sand mode was the last time. Operated much better with just the everyday four wheel configuration.

It usually depends on the off roading situation I am in. I have used all my GOAT modes and have manually set up what I want, I have found both ways useful. So for me it depends.

I often forget about it. Get stuck in 2wd then go to whatever I need to get me out from there.

Usually Wheel in 4 Lo or 4 Hi and manually turn lockers on and off. Sometimes you want a lazy throttle as apposed to sport mode on obstacles. I do know if your in the sand and trying to go fast, make sure you turn off traction control, hold down button until graph goes all the way across screen. Sand mode does this automatically. The nannys will get you if you dont.

I take mine off road quite a bit and I don't bother with the GOAT modes. I just select which version of 4-wheel-drive that I need and leave it in normal mode. I occasionally hit the lockers as needed - rear through loose sections where I don't need to be in 4L, and front and rear on occasion when I DO need 4L.

The Sasquatch comes with Trail Control in the center of the dial, which is basically off road cruise control that can hold the speed you want up or down hills. However, after using it a couple of times I have no use for that feature either. Going down a steep hill it will get you in the right gear to do most of the slowing by engine braking, but it uses the actual brakes too. I can do a better job of selecting what gear I want so that I use the brakes less and reduce the chance of them overheating.

Gratuitous photo at the top of an 8400 foot mountain in the area. The descent off of this mountain requires 1st or 2nd gear (automatic) in 4L to hold a reasonable speed and not overheat the brakes.

Both. More often manual. I like the primary GOAT modes like Sport for the more aggressive shifting profile, but many features are not available in Sport. My most common one after Sport is Baja but manually switched to 2WD. Then next most common is Rock Cawl with manual config of lockers and sway bar disconnect.

I typically switch to the GOAT mode and into mud/ruts. Works really well and seems to be a great configuration for what I’m doing on trails in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

I use sand mode on the beach, only switched out once when I had to yank a 4Runner. He was stuck below the quickly rising tide line.

I do a combination depending what I'm doing... But for the technology, the GOAT modes do more automatic stuff behind the scenes then Manual Mode can.

Yup, manual control. At the trailhead, switch to 4lo and turn on rear locker. Do some rock crawling.

Manual, as that's all I've ever had before.
