You may want to check again. Just because they are located in the USA, doesn’t mean it’s made in the USA.
Not that I’m digging into supply chains and subjective nature of ratio of parts vs r&d vs design vs build vs qty jobs located where that one would consider USA made but… they both offices and r&d and engineering facilities here. I, assuming you’re referring to Mish having “corporate campus is located in New Castle, Delaware, with four subsidiary locations worldwide” being problematic?

I mean I’m trying to keep all addons/ mods I do as much USA made and sourced too (to the degree of spending 5X on tool bags as an example) but at some point understanding global economics and material sourcing, there are always degrees of acceptance. I bet whatever you’re typing on to argue this point would incur some irony.

I know most materials come from China. I’m referring to mIshimoto making it in “Asia”. I have zero issues with any products made by MIshimoto.
I’m in the manufacturing world and I know how this stuff works. I can’t speak for Whipple as I have not contacted them.
Im trying to support the companies that make their products here in the USA, not just designing them here.

I installed the Whipple Stage 1 tune and air filter last week and man what a difference it made. I just installed the intercooler this morning. Can't wait to see if it makes any difference. It's really hot down here in Texas right now, 105 yesterday, so power gains probably won't be as dramatic as if it was in the 80's. This install was quick and easy. Less than 2-hours. FYI i have the capable bumper and no CCA so not as many bolts and brackets to mess with.

You’re talking about it taking 2 hrs for the intake and such right? You have to remove the front bumper to install the whipple intercooler? I have the mishimoto and it’s a 5 min install from start to finish with removing the skid plate

The Whipple is much thicker than the factory unit. That how it gains its efficiency. But it doesn't hang down any lower. You have to discard the factory shutter damper in order to use it, hence the bumper must come off. It's no big deal. I have never gauged the benefit of a performance product by how easy it was to install.

Heard problems with the KN ones, that they wont fit with anything not stock

Im gonna stick with the Mishimoto cai, since if I wanna add a snorkel, it’s built with that in mind, they’ll have their own kit
Is that true? Did you get any feedback from K&N?

Thanks Chris! I didn’t mean it was the only thing, but from what I had researched and gathered, the most important of the data I could find. Sorry for the confusion.

If flow is just as important, would Whipple’s 12% less restrictive create more flow than Mishimoto’s 7%? Albeit minimal. I’m sure there’s other factors, but that would be the assumption, correct?

I did like the inlets Mishimoto includes for aftermarket pipes though; that validates the importance of fit/quality in your response.

Thanks! I ended up going with Whipple but I know both are great units, that’s why it was such a difficult decision. It was a bit more difficult to get the black mishi IC which is what I was originally looking for and how I stumbled into doing more research. I grabbed my FP tune from you guys at rollout, so thanks for that! It’s awesome and you guys rock!
I love my Whipple Stage I performance kit and I have no doubts that aftermarket charge pipes will fit perfectly to it. Also get rid of the electronic shutters for it by detaching the motor and ziptieing it up else where (No code) less restriction and less headaches when taking your Bronco through water/mud crossings. Last thing you want is the shutter to be stuck in the close position.

Yeah I got the Whipple IC around the original post in ‘22. The aftermarket pipes didn’t fit though. Tried numerous times and posted about it in another thread last year. As for the shutters, taking them out is the only option since the IC’s sizing is much bigger.

I got the whipple intercooler that I installed as one of my first upgrades, mishi cold and hot pipes, k&n cai, CPR upgraded turbos, 3.5l port injectors, CVF down pipes, e tuning on e85. My IAT and Manifold intake air temp are hitting 140 and 130+ respectively,

Not sure if the whipple intercooler is heat soaking too quickly or what but doesn't seem to be doing the trick. I do have a RC winch mount that blocks the sides of the intercooler inlet area on the bumper so wondering if that could be effecting it.
