The first time I saw one in person was the day I bought my FE. The first time I drove one was AFTER i finalized the paperwork and drove home. I didn’t need to test drive before buying, I knew I had to have it either way.

Had a 74 for years that I had to sell when I was in college. Bought a 77 a few years after graduation and fixed it up. Still have it. Been slowly upgrading it for past 20 years. It’s nice. When Ford finally decided to pull the trigger on new Bronco there wasn’t any hesitation on my part. I’ve had a Bronco in the garage for almost 30 years and if the good Lord will let me, I’ll keep this one till one of us can’t go anymore.

Same here. Paid then drove one for the first time. I didn’t test drive either, waited a year and three months, it was coming home regardless.

I am responding with out reading anybodies comments. I will go back and read them.
Short answer is yes. 1. I have always liked the Bronco. The early Bronco in particular. 2. I come from a Ford family, my father and uncles were UAW members and now my brother, cousins, and other family members are UAW members (I am the black sheep). I am not anti Jeep or wealthy but since I can afford a Bronco, there was no question when it came to ordering one. I am a very patient person but I am starting to get very excited at the prospect of being scheduled.

I hate driving automatics. Ford only makes two vehicles I would even consider driving. The Mustang and the Bronco.

I was sold on the Bronco when it was announced you could get a stick shift. Did I mention I hate driving automatics.

Like everyone else, of course! I still haven't seen a 2-door to this day, so I'm very excited to pick mine up (any day now....). It's frustrating to see other ones out there, but at the same time it's cool to see bronco's out in the wild. I just wish mine was here, even if it was built 5 months ago (dirt mountain).

I did. Finally got to drive a 4 dr when the mannequin arrived. Still haven't driven a 2 dr., only got to look at a 2 dr Customer's order that came in last month.
Same here. Just saw my 1st 2-door the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Not sure if it was a Dirt Mountain, but I presume it was. I thought the MIC top was a high-quality manufactured part. The truck was a First Edition in the special blue just for FE. It was georgious.

The 4-door automatic ragtop mannequin I've test driven didn't wow me over, but it's the opposite of what I've ordered. I'm hoping the 2-door manual is a better driver as I expect it to be.

When I learned I had a big inheritance coming my way, my thoughts quickly turned to spending some of it on a vehicle more suitable for my current needs and profession than what I now have.

I need something that can handle rough terrain, getting in and out of contraction sites, and that can securely store and carry all my tools.

It's about that time that my attention was called to the upcoming revival of the Bronco.

I seem to have fixated on the Bronco as soon as I learned of it. I've looked into other vehicles and tried to give them a fair judgement, but I kept coming back to the Bronco.

By the time the big part of my inheritance came in, I was pretty well set on using it to buy a Bronco. Some of my coworkers told me that that thought I'd be disappointed once I finally got to see and test drive one in person. I suspect that this came from having seen the “Bronco” Sport, and not the real Bronco.

Anyway, on 15 October 2021, the first Saturday after ordering opened up for the 2022 model year, Bronco, and based on the reputation that Serramonte Ford seems to have on this forum, @Seanette and I braved the two hour drive and the Bay Area traffic to go meet with @Gloff to put in my order. I went in with what, before then, I would rationally have had to admit was unrealistically high expectations of what the vehicle would be like, a perfect setup to be disappointed as some of my colleagues warned that I might.

This was the very first, and still so far only occasion on which I have seen the real 6th generation Bronco in person. There were four of them there. I got to take a Wildtrak for a brief test drive.

It totally, completely, utterly failed to disappoint me. That's how I reported the experience back to my coworkers the following Monday.

Even @Seanette, riding as a passenger, was very impressed with the vehicle. And that was with a version that should be significantly less suited to either of us than the version I now have on order, and on a brief drive on normal roads (albeit in scary Bay Area traffic, which seemed much less scary in this vehicle than in our own car); and not in the kind of conditions that on would expect a Bronco to need in order to really show is how superior it is to our current car.

OK, so I didn't quite go as far as ordering my Bronco before I test drove one, but I was already sold enough on it that if I didn't have the chance to test drive, I still would have put in my order.

So, who else? Who was already set on ordering a Bronco, without having seen one or had the chance to test-drive one?

Is there anyone who went as far as actually placing the order without ever seeing or test-driving one?
I think all of us that placed a reservation. 500 days ago as of Thanksgiving I reserved one of these unicorns and I still have not found a two door to look at in person. For most of the people on this site this was a giant leap of faith and a test of patience. Hope it turns out to be worth the wait.

My first car was a 1984 Bronco II. I know, not a ‘real’ Bronco, but close enough. Got rid of it in 1996 and have been waiting for its replacement ever since.
So it's funny you bring up the Bronco II. In 1987 I bought a Ranger STX. Like now, the Gen 1 Ranger and the Bronco II were cousins. To my eye, the 1st Gen Ranger/Bronco II are closely copied from the EB. Had rectangle headlights not been automotive fashion in the 1980's and Ford used round headlights instead, the Bronco II would have been a dead ringer for the EB; the first metal-roof Bronco.

My interest in the New Bronco is the manual transmission, and the styling takes me back to my '87 Ranger STX. Finally, the removable doors and roof wrap the entire experience back to my YJ Wrangler. 3X over on the nostalgia-meter for me. Win-win-win.
