Jesus Christ. Look at the features man. They’re factory and under warranty. FCA needs to step their game up. Many of the features on the bronco are aftermarket on the wrangler. But I’m not a salesman. Do your own due diligence.
This is the correct answer. Jeep had no competition for the longest time and didn't need to improve on anything because what else would you buy?

Ford fixed most of the issues that Jeep owners just dealt with.

I've always wanted an open-air off-roader but I NEVER wanted a Jeep. I was inches away from buying a restored Scout II in 2019 when the new Bronco was announced. I had even put my deposit down on the Scout II build but pulled it to see what happens with the Bronco. I'm happy I've done that so far.

At this point, Bronco offers the hope of reliability and performance.

I’ll be honest, I really wanted a JL Wrangler. For my intended uses, a Wrangler will most likely be better. I plan to wheel this thing pretty hard and I have no doubt a solid axle would fit my personal needs better.

However, the giant elephant in the room is FCA’s JL quality issues. I’ve been reading about the numerous problems on the JL Wrangler and there is quite a few. They finally released an updated steering box this year for the piss poor steering reported by many JL owners. The hinge paint bubbling/corrosion is also a HUGE issue that affects every single JL that rolls off the line. FCA doesn’t apply primer/paint underneath the hinges when they paint them and over time the hinges *will* bubble and need to be repainted by a professional. Massive thread about this on the JL forum. Many who have had their paint fixed have had to get theirs re-done a second time. No thanks.

FCA’s engines leave a bit to be desired and I wanted a manual for a long time until I read about the numerous JL manual transmission issues. There’s now a reflash to limit torque so the clutch won’t overheat/fail (has led to vehicle fires).

So that led me to the Bronco. I have a 14’ F-250 that I’ve beat the hell out of and it’s still holding up well. I trust Ford to get quality right over FCA. Love the Ecoboost engines. Am stoked to have the option of the 2.7. Have a friend who towed 13K last week with his F150 2.7/3.55s/34” tires. Yes the truck was overloaded. Yes he knew. Towed a bobcat to a job site and the truck did great. 7-8th gear on the highway depending on speed. Not bad! That engine will be plenty for me on 35-37” tires.

I personally wish the Bronco was solid axle up front but I’m confident I’ll be able to do the trails I have planned without too many issues. And I won’t have to deal with the dumpster fire quality control of FCA.

Besides the wrangler, its the only 4x4 with removable top and manual transmission and thats why I’m getting one.

Truck based, four door, body on frame SUV that isn't a freaking school bus... pretty slim pickings.

I like the looks of the Bronco better than 4Runner/Lexus or Jeep. Looks like it has more room in the back seat for car seats than a Wrangler. Rear locker on a rather basic model is nice too (Black Diamond)

I'll be honest... I would be happy to own a jeep, I've always loved jeeps and owned a couple in my life. Had the Bronco not been announced, I likely would have bought one. That said, as I have given it a considerable amount of thought since placing my reservation it had become more than superficial with regards to why I feel confident about my decision to go with the Bronco.

First, IFS. I don't really do hardcore rock crawling, like stuff you'd need a buggy or heavily modified solid front axle for. I.E. stuff you couldn't even do in a stock rubicon. I do trails like black bear pass, and would like to be able to do most of moab, I also live in the desert and enjoy a good high speed romp on the flat desert trails which the Bronco will be unquestionably better suited for. Realistically however, 95% of my time I will be on the road. And I'm sure that's the same with 95% of 4x4 owners, jeep or otherwise. The Bronco can do everything I would want to do with it, and then some and still be more comfortable on the road and at higher speeds. Also, I have no intention or need to lift it as i have with other trucks in the past, as it is more than capable stock, and that makes me happy.

Second reason I went with the bronco is because, as others have mentioned, I believe Fords quality at this point in time is better. That hasn't always been the case and certainly there are exceptions, and occasionally lemons. However ford spends more money on R&D on their turbo engines then almost all other manufacturers combined. That certainly doesn't guarantee it will be perfect, but they are all in on these platforms and compared to FCA motors it's a an easy choice, IN MY OPINION.

Third reason and probably the most subjective... it's a cosmetic thing. I prefer the look of the Bronco. I think it looks amazing, and Ford really hit it out of the park with this design. Like I said I like jeeps for what they are capable of but I always looked at them as more of a utilitarian vehicle, I never looked at one and said, "damn that thing is sexy." The Bronco on the other hand is sexy as hell. It invokes the same emotional response in me that my STI does, for different reasons of course. And unlike almost every other 4x4 on the market otherwise, it is as capable as it is beautiful, all without a single aftermarket part. Mind you I'm a sucker for a Taco or 4Runner TRD Pro (cosmetically) as well but Bandlands with the Sasquatch package (which I ordered) will absolutely destroy both of those off road, and comes with so much more for a similar price. Hell even a base with the sas package would run circles around those trucks stock for stock.

I think that just about sums it up. 🤣

Because it's true to its roots but is also a fully updated modern Bronco and it is one. bad. motherfucker.

Isn't it just that simple, and isn't that more than enough?
