Hi Fam,

Just a quick question. Last week I saw that 4 door accessory where the Bronco had a half soft top similar to a moonroof type for the front row with a har dtype for the back.

My question is, will the soft top be modular? If I wanted to put the hard top on the whole bronco can I do that? is the soft top portion removable? Thanks Fam!

My instincts are telling me yes since the whole dang Bronco will be modular!

That's the Bestop Sunrider. It's a $750 accessory that is put on in place of the front two hard top panels.

The soft top is only modular in that the windows can come out.

Dang... so what you're saying is.. If I choose this option.. I'd be stuck with it and cannot replace with Hard top. Am I correct? I'll have to reconsider my options then.. Thanks for your input!

You can swap the Sunrider with the hard top panels whenever you want. It just takes a while.

Gotcha. Yeah It would be a pain because I had to take it out, then not mess with the wires as there electronic components that make it move etc... But hey at least there is the option. Definitely will consider it.

Personally, and I'm sure it's available by Ford or after market, is a soft top for the whole but the Shell for the back is hard top, so basically a panoramic soft top wth the shell in the back modular hard top.

No wiring is involved. It moves with your arms. :)

There are a bunch of pictures (on a Jeep) here: https://www.quadratec.com/p/bestop/twill-sunrider-hardtop-20-jeep-wrangler-jl

But, there is wiring to remove the rear clamshell (with the windows) of the hard top. Should be one plug.

Nope. Some of us here were expecting that though. Hopefully Bestop makes one in the future.

You mean a two-row soft top with a hardtop for the cargo? Or do you mean a whole hardtop with a giant slide back soft roof section like in a Fiat 500?

Hi toccoa I mean like a Soft top for the front and back passengers with the whole thing convertible like a panoramic roof, and the cargo are with a hard shell. Does that make sense.

Like this: (One touch Panoramic softop Jeep)

Nothing like that for the Bronco.
Not yet at least!!! Here's my thought. If Jeep if offering something like this, I think we could beat them at their own game. If Bronco was to offer something like this, and somehow make it modular... GAME CHANGER.

I could see a situation where as I was imagining from my lay/novice off roader perspective (LOL) where I can remove the panoramic soft-top and switch to modular. The bronco would have Aux switches so when I wanted to put it back on, I just snap it back in place, and maybe with some sort of wiring, just plug it into a hole for power on the roof rack and power it with one of the AUX switches.

Translation: With Jeep, with their skyroof option, it's permanent. With us... it's Modular.. we win that fight.

Got it. Like a Fiat (and various other vehicles).

Only problem there is where do you store something like that? It’s gotta be heavy as well. Cool though. ?

It's not supposed to be removed on the Jeep. Something about the soft top getting off track I think.

Exactly. that's why there's an opportunity for Bronco to get ahead of the game. With Jeep it's permanent, with Bronco we're modular. If we can somehow figure it out this late in the game. Hey, I'm very happy with what I'm seeing either way.

But I myself am in a very competitive industry, and anything I can do to one up my competitor, should definitely be considered!
