2022 Base Sas owner here. Got my first cracked windshield. Question: for those who replaced, does the new one come with the embedded QR Code and other mesh wiring the original came with?
I got OEM “Bronco” glass and it’s visually identical to the original glass. QR included.

It should say “Bronco” in front of the driver. SoundScreen is the brand.

QR code - I don’t think so. Factory glass might, but for sure the cheaper non-OEM glass does not. You also lose the “Made in MAP” sticker no matter which glass.

Factory glass will have “accessory ready” labels and the Bronco decal on the lower drivers side above the ViN. Non-OEM glass won’t have any of that.

For the mesh wiring for the front collision cam - yes, no matter which you go with.
Thank you ! Bummer on the made in ... I guess I'll drive with a cracked windshield for a bit longer lol

Some folks have had luck getting a new one from the Factory, but I think it’s one of those you need to know a guy who knows a guy type thing

For those who have used Safelite, do they offer OEM vs not or is it "you get what you get" ? I just went online and I see no place to specifically ask for OEM. Does the stealership offer replacement with OEM?

Last time I went to Safelite they smeared RTV all over the cloth seat and tried to deny it was their tech, even though it was still wet…

I think Safelite is hit or miss depending on the store and tech. I've read plenty of horrible reviews in my area but my local shop did a great job.

I realize it's an old thread, but as an FYI, I got dinged on insurance because of "Comp claims over $1000", never knew that was a thing. My two windshield ran about $1050 a piece, I had a full glass replacement policy. If I knew that, perhaps there was a work a round.

So got the windshield replaced by Safelite. The tech was cool, seemed to know what he was doing. Didn't get an OEM though - aftermarket. He did calibration, etc. All looks the same except no QR code or "bronco born in 1966" etching the OEM had. Wonder if they have stickers similar to that.

I need to get mine replaced- torn between OEM and Safelite. How is yours holding up?

Do you notice any difference in road/wind noise? Did you get the sound screen model?

Holding up really well. I didn’t get oem, the installer told me the version they offer is equal so I just went with it. No problems. I just miss the born in 1966 on the original.
