Anyone else's wireless Android auto/carplay glitching? Every like 1/10 times the screen will freeze mid drive and I have no screen controls, can't switch from like Spotify to the map, just does nothing. Once I stop and restart the car the next time it works perfect again.

I tried it with the cord and its worked every time so just seems to be a wireless glitch and not a complete system failure.

More annoying than anything.

mine works fine, my frustration is the wireless charging pad is weak and the phone drains quickly despite being charged

My CarPlay does something similar every time I pass by a certain area. Assume it’s some type of RF interference but I haven’t IDed the source yet. It will glitch, freeze, and often just disconnect all together. Will normally fix itself after I have left that area. It’s about a 1000ft stretch of road between an Ace Hardware, Bank, and a gas station. Not really close to a cell or transmission tower so not sure what would be causing the interference.

I wonder if that's my issue is that I'm losing service....I'm in MA so we're pretty well covered....I'll have to keep an eye on it next time.

My BD doesn't come with the wireless charging but I saw a lot of people complaining about it. Feel like they made a lot of cheaper decisions with some of the hardware choices.

Mine does that too, right when I am getting on the interstate. My 19 Ranger never lost connection but, it was an earlier version of sync.

Do you guys have cases on your phones? That will reduce the charge efficiency dramatically.

+1 I've experienced this a handful of times as well. I found that turning on/off airplane mode to force-disconnect android auto works as well (easier than turning off car, especially on highway haha)

Mine will say the connection is unstable then just disconnect after a couple of times. I use the cord and everything is fine

Hello!
Send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer.
I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist with this CarPlay concern on your Bronco. Thanks!

I had this same thing happen to me, its really weird because it actually happens when I cross a certain intersection. I tested it out like 4 times and it froze each time. I have no clue why but Its happened 100% of the time at the same spot.

99. 9% of the time the carplay(wife's phone) and Android auto (mine) worked flawlessly. We have even swapped between carplay and AA mid travel without issues. The rare case when the head unit froze... We would restart by pressing and holding down audio power button and skip forward button together for few seconds until the display restarts.
Restarting head unit is better and safer than trying to play around with phone changing settings and/or rebooting.

Mine is a little glitchy as well but it could very well be my phone (Galaxy S10). After so long, my music apps won't appear so I do a quick turn Bluetooth off on the Bronco and back on and then they reappear. Eventually this doesn't work so I have to remove the phone all together and re-add it to the Bronco. Typically do this cycle every 4-6 weeks.
