Would you let the Dealer "detail" the Bronco before taking ownership?

Just give me my Bronco, I'll detail it. Have been doing it for 40 years.

So I guess I should tell them to take care of the interior and throw it in a touchless car wash and be done with it.

If you are picky do yourself a favor.

1) Set expectations to that of a basic car wash with tire shine.
2) Do not make a big deal with the dealer or on the forum if it is not perfect. Just set aside 2 hours to clean it to your level of satisfaction.

I plan on letting them do their cleaning so I can go out for the day right after. I will clean it myself after.

I really think there are bigger things to worry about in life, but it is your vehicle...do whatever you feel is best.

You realize this is an automotive forum, right? People come here to escape their bigger worries and ask questions about a mutual interest.

Pros - Helps you and dealer to catch issues/imperfections at the time of sale so no questions after the fact (for example, we found a small chip in door paint on mine when doing inspection). Also lets you leave dealership with a shiny new vehicle.
Cons - Many times the wash part of the detail can be done cutting corners. Some places uses brushes, some reuse towels inappropriately, or other things that can cause swirl marks in the paint.

My honest opinion is that if you are the type of person that stresses about dealer car washes causing swirl marks, you would already have your mind made up and not be asking this forum. People that fit into that category already have their day lined up to detail the Bronco themselves ASAP. If you regularly run your car through automated car washes, you do not fit this role and should probably not care.
