Here’s a bit of a different use of the ole girl. We were on our way to blue ridge from Knoxville and it’s just an hour detour so I couldn’t resist.

as with my trip last year in my bmw, I got held up by a motorcycle but it wasn’t too awful this time.

She did well, was quite a handful but sport and 4a was nice.

I also took my bronco to tail fo the dragon. I thought it handled it very well. I pushed it pretty hard just like I would have my focus RS. I did experience some brake fade but I expected that.

Hey that’s fun! I was nearby doing similar things this weekend going through Pisgah / Nantahala / Cherokee National Forests. There’s another fun road they call the Rattler’s Den in NC with 290 turns over 25 miles (so less than the dragons, but very fun) — it’s NC 209

Tail of the Dragon is fun going from NC to TN but TN to NC where it is mostly downhill is a bit sketchier because of the weight of the bronco plus it was wet when I went. Got to hit Windrock off road park in TN after the tail.

I live in Dawsonville, so done the Tail a bunch of times. It is definitely a nice drive. Good pics

Great idea! I’ve only used my bike on the tail of the dragon until this post. I never even thought of it. Great pictures.

Ive always wanted to go. I have a few friends that go once a year or so with mustangs or lightnings (2nd gen no elec bs) and say its a blast. My 2dr bronco handles quite well with my tire and wheel setup and I think it would be a blast. Of course when I do make the trip Ill be hauling my zx6r with me too.

I drove it many years ago in my lifted 90s explorer on mud tires and get held up by motorcycles and cars.

Too many tourists who go just to say they did it and have a photo op.
