Not sure if this helps, but here are some pix after I finished the install of the bikini Bestop mesh cover. I test drove today…really nice on a sunny day but does flutter a bit at higher speeds as you might suspect. Overall I’m pleased.

Just got my solid canvas Bikini Top the other day. Looks nice. Sorry no pics, I'm still waiting for the Bronco to put it on, but wanted the 15% off & avoid any inflationary price increase in the future ;)

Now I feel like a want the Canvas Bimini top and mesh....
I like the idea of running the mesh top under the soft top since I will probably always want that limited sun protection when i fold back the soft top. But for those weeks when I plan to not have the soft top on for extended time, having the cavas Bimini would be great...Especially when I am in the mountains when the sun is closer due to elevation and the uv is so intense.

Hi All. So just to confirm, the canvas is basically solid and won't let light through, where as the mesh is what is.
Thanks.

Does anyone have any pics of this installed so we can see the whole picture? The mesh photos show all the connections and general construction, but I want to see how the canvas looks comparatively

My wife is considering the mesh top. I need to know can you just unhook the front and fold the mesh back and reinstall the hardtop panels back on or do you have to remove the mesh top completely?

It looks just like this one that the OP posted but for a 4-Door. It's a canvas Bikini Top made by BesTop

Part # VM2DZ54500W00C
2 Door Ford Accessories Bronco 2Dr 2021 Soft Canvas Bimini Top ~ VM2DZ54500W00C (ford.com)

Current Price $ 288.15

It's a Bestop product and I can only assume that it is the same as shown on the 2022 B & P.
I installed it with the back shell on ( because you can ) , so there are not completed exterior pics. Because Bestop made provisions for MIC front panel clamp access, the bimini can be left in place.

So why install with the back shell in place ?

There is a Mid Bow Bar located where the Front panels and back shell meet. If I can secure the bimini back to this point, then, when needed, I have a simple coverup option when I run with the Front panels off.

Yes - with the GearShade mesh Bimini you can unhook one side of the mesh, latch the panels, and reattach. There is a posting here somewhere that I read recently.

I replied to Bestop's thread promoting this. I also have communicated to Bestop, but have been waiting for a week to hear from them regarding the numerous design flaws.

https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/bestop-bimini.39921/#post-1298648

I'll recount my experience here:

  • The canvas is waterproof, but the zippers are not. So the water runs down into the zippers and pours into the back seat.
  • The front gap cannot be closed. I completely loosened the back clanmps, but the middle cross bar prevents the top from being pulled any closer to the windshield. I completely un-velcroed the bar, pulled it all the way up front, but thhen you cannot use the clips designed to hook into the front mounts. So it creates the exact problem pulling the top forward fixes: a large gap that flaps in the wind.
  • The other main issue is the sides. They flap non-stop at speeds as low as 30 mph. It's VERY loud. You can see in my pics that i tried adding grommets and gear ties to hold it down. It still doesn't help.
  • I've resorted to adding grommets and using bungees to hold down all the loose areas.
I've talked to a couple of BESTOP employees on the phone and they are confused. The product is offered through FORD, so they aren't aware of it. The instructions are for the mesh top, which I'm assuming are correct, but the customer service could just tell me "check the instructions". He also went on and on about the magnets. If you can't tell the two front corners are magnets. They can be extended, but when the wind blows into the top, it pulls them in. They are strong, but not placed right.

I've written BESTOP here, but I haven't heard anything back. I'm also waiting for their Bronco specialist to email me or call me to help me figure it out. If I can't figure it out then I'm taking it back to FORD. If I can figure it out, then I need the help. Unfortunately, I have it installed and am stuck with it. If I don't hear something by tomorrow then I'm taking it off and back. Not worth the $350, IMO. This is at best an $80 product. It just works to provide shade, but creates more problems than it solves.

I ended up buying the mesh top. This looks identical except it’s a canvas. Given how bad the mesh is, I have no idea why they would even offer this product or why anyone would buy it. If this is anything like the mesh top (which it looks identical from the pics), the front will flap constantly, the top will be loose and flabby, the noise and wind would be significantly worse. The only way in which this is better is it looks cool. Otherwise just throw on a baseball cap and save your $300 on this garbage. Sorry bestop.
