help getting a factory roof rack?

Buy the parts for the roof rack, I did.

holy ouch. $1k+ just for both of the side rails. Not including shipping. Ya no way that piece is worth $500 each.

The setup I added was for a 2-dr, I believe there is a 4-dr variation.

Anyone know what the difference is between the 2 door and 4 door rack? The distance from the mounting points over the windshield to the rear forward mounting points on the 4 door is the same as a 2 door. Build and price shows the roof rack on the 4 door mounting to the rear forward points. I'm wondering if the 4 door rack available as an accessory mounts to the points at the back, or maybe a 6 point attachment like the zroads.

All depends on what your plans are for the top. If you looking at the occasional kayak you’ll be good with factory but not at that price point from part department just wait for second hand to be available. But if you want load rating for toys/RTT look at GOBI should be released within weeks. Poor image but this is the tease they’ve given.

I would have the OEM rack already if it went to the back connection point... I honestly don't understand why they designed it to just connect and stop at that first connection point.

Hopefully aftermarket will have something soon.

UPDATE:

ive talked to a few dealers and everyone thus far is saying that the part number exists in the system but its notated from ford that it isn't available at this time. so who knows how long it'll take to get the whole rack kit put together as a package to ship out. i think im going to just order it anyway and it'll ship when it ships i guess.
