Were you using the cone pin in the hinge? and were you using door bags?

Iā€™ve seen them in a few deliveries along with the roof top piece bags. Believe they were included on some trims and packages but definitely an accessory for the 22MY

Thought it was good, was moving the door to remove the guide and BAM! I tried to get my foot under (guess I was willing to sacrifice a toe lol) anyway, ugh. 22 model so no included door bags though I doubt they would have protected against this kind of damageā€¦
OK so now I am going to get a pool noodle from a dollar store and cut that thing up for additional 2 door removal installation protection! If I had only thought of that prior to dropping a door into the pavement.

The door bags donā€™t come with the bronco you have to buy them delegate same as the 21 model year only thing the bronco comes with is hard top panel storage bag

You popped your cherry!

Did the same thing as a few others have done. Possibly less damage than they did though, so be happy with that.

Ok mine is a black diamond. I might call Ford tomorrow just to make sure. I think you are correct now that you mention it. Thank you!

I think itā€™s easier with out the door bags. One hand in the lower lift point, other over the top grabbing the outside door handle. Iā€™ve never had any issues like that so far. Iā€™d rather have control of the door then a bag with a door in it. Have zero issues putting them back on. What I have noticed is alignment titty only needs to be put in 2-3 threads, not all the way. Hard to get back out if you run it all the way in. Door should be put back on in the fully open position. If you here a click opening and closing the doors you need to tighten the door bolts again. They always have to be tightened twice. The initial and after the next time out. Full length edge trim helps, just make sure to remove it before you try and close the door. If youā€™re cerama coated, spray some simple green on the 2 protectors they come with or wash with dish soap. After theyā€™re dry they wonā€™t fall off. Simple green, dish soap, and wd40 open pores in the rubber and make them super sticky.

Waiting to hear the explanation of how aluminum is going to "rust".
It technically is called oxidation but yes aluminum does oxidize white and will rot. Itā€™s not some miracle metal.
get some touch up paint on it as soon as possible. This is why I set the bolts in before even trying to move the doors. The weird Square thing that interfaces with the top hinge worries me. While you are getting an estimate maybe the body shop will have some foam triangles. They come in almost every hood as protection. Maybe you can get them to save you a couple.
