I have seen posts that the sound deadening headliner sheds and that it may not make that much difference. I am trying to determine if it is worth optioning. Do you like the headliner? Does anyone know the cost to option the head liner?

I would pass; when I test drove a MIC awhile ago I was seriously unimpressed with lining. It reminded me of those cheap moving blankets they provide in a Uhaul box truck.

When I ordered dual tops I had planned on buying the Hot Heads on the aftermarket. A quick visit to their website looks like they have plans but nothing out yet.

That's the great thing about all things Bronco... Waiting!

When I built / ordered mine in 2021 it was a $500 option. It's just thin marine grade carpet that could be laid in for better coverage...

My plan is to replace it.

Mine hasn’t shed at all. That being said, I doubt it makes much of a difference with noise levels though.

Mine came without it, and now I am happy it’s not there.

I like how it finishes off the inside of my top. Haven’t had any issues with it. No idea if it helps with road/wind noise. Can still hear it.

Mine came without it but I really wish I had it. It's available on Ford's website for the same price. So luckily it is not one of those options that costs you 10x more after the fact. I plan to add it at some point. It's just a thin 1/8" layer of felt with an adhesive backing.

I want it for two reasons:

1) It does noticeably absorb heat. Without it, the underside of the roof panels are very hot to the touch on a summer day. You can feel the heat radiating at head level. Comparing to a Bronco with the lining, it is only slightly warm and you do not feel the heat by your head as much.

2) It only marginally adds more sound deadening BUT... the acoustics in these trucks is horrible. Having any sort of lining on those hard surfaces (underside of roof panels) can only improve the situation when it comes to the audio listening experience.

I have it, no issues with it. Greatly reduces heat to the touch on the roof. Since it was already there, can’t compare sound without it.

The build guide now shows it being a standard no-cost item, unless your model has the MGV seats, in which case the headliner is optional.

If you plan on putting something better in, i'd recommend not getting it. Otherwise it's better than nothing.

Does not shed, looks good, didn’t cost extra, I’m sure helps with noise reduction slightly, provides spot for Velcro patches if that’s your thing, likely helps with temperature insulation.

Well I think it would help, even if it's by one decibel, but I believe it's a no cost option now.

a few thoughts

1. i added it. looks fine, not sure how much it helps. if you're lazy or hate diy add it.

2. if i could do it again i would have skipped it, kilmatted, and then added a liner.

3. this is coming out soon. i would wait for this if you want something better 2021-2023 Ford Bronco Hard Top Headliners | Hothead Headliners

I signed my new DORA as part of the COVP today. It has the headliner listed, but the cost is $0. Is this correct?
