I got a call today from my dealer asking me to come in with my build sheet in hand. When I arrived there was another Bronco customer ahead of me, and several others arrived shortly thereafter. I was asked to fill out several sections in the purchase agreement/credit app, then sign my build sheet. He then cross-referenced my reservation number and told me that in January I would be getting a call to pony up the deposit. Progress!
So what does a credit app look like? I ask because I was under the impression they don't do anything with credit until you go to pickup/pay for the thing

Its best overall that it is delayed. It will give Ford time to send out the order guide and produce more details about the pricing, combinations, etc. Plus I'll have more time to go over every little detail 10 million times again. My wife is gonna kill me.
Lol. I read that one out loud to my wife and she sarcastically said “I have no idea what he is talking about “. Then my daughter said that I have “Bronc-itis”.

due to the weird laws we have in the states, FORD can start selling next year's model starting on the 1st of January in the previous year,

so MY22 could start on 1 Jan 2021!
So basically you're saying that my July 15th reservation could be for a 2022 starting January 1? I like it, white hard top here I come ?

If you've seen any of my previous posts, my #1 gripe about Ford and the whole Bronco process is poor communication on the part of Ford. No surprise here for me. I'm car shopping now.

Standard app with license number/names of two friends/relative/income. The dealer explained that due to the sheer volume of reservations that knocking out this step will save time for customers down the road. Now instead of coming to the dealer for paperwork in a huge line out the door when reservations can convert to orders, the sales folks can just call customers who did the paperwork and get a credit card or whatever over the phone for the actual deposit. Makes sense from a logistics standpoint...otherwise, dealers who wait until the ability to actually place orders to get customers in are going to have to do it all in one go and have a waiting room full of (disgruntled) people. My reservation number was on the computer screen in whatever database he was checking, and I believe he was calling in some kind of order (because I was an early reserver and I think I was number 8 in the dealership for a Bronco today...I just happened to be working from home and was able to go in straight away). He did share that the reserved Broncos would be out anytime from June to December, so I don't think he was trying to give me false hope of anything earlier.

I want them to get it right but this whole process is a shit show. From the lack of communication to the B & P mistakes and lack of information. There is no way Dec 7th is happening. I beat they drag out the order date until the end of January and then blame the holidays and Covid. I reserved mine at like 6am the morning after the reveal (cause I couldn't get through during it) and I'll be shocked if I actually get it in 2021. smh

That’s fine, gives me the chance to use B&P 375 more times and get the same result.
I am going to get fired if the boss walks by my office one more time and I have three computer screens full of Bronco builds and OneNote graphic comparisons up.

From what I understand batteries are the limiting factor now ?
Batteries will continue to evolve. But I'm referencing new wireless charging technology....just like with your phone

It's funny that people are surprised by delays right now. I work in supply chain and the LA port congestion(for example) is the worst it's ever been- current dwell time is approx 2 weeks, when a few days is the norm. Also, PAX flights are still limited and major hub airports in the US are seeing multiple day delays for pickups (typically It's 4 hours). Just today it was announced that 4 airlines are stopping their flights from China to the US for 10 days because most of their ground handlers are infected.

My company is currently moving the cowhides for Bronco leather into Mexico from South America and the suppliers are a few weeks behind schedule. Covid is wreaking havoc on the industry.

Plus, doesn't help that Bronco is introducing new components/suppliers (like removable roofs) during a pandemic, so it makes sense that these would be some of the late availability items.
