I did call. No new info and they said I would get more info from my dealer. FYI. First time I ever called that customer service number. They were very nice.

Update from dealer. Now build week 8/23. So I guess that is an unofficial confirmation the MAP shutdown is the week of 8/16?

That was not a problem with generation, it was the feds denied the request to increase output for environmental reasons. I suffered through that and it made the COVID-19 infection I got a lot worse than it should have been!

Just so you know, your blackout in Texas had nothing to do with the feds except that Texas did it to avoid the feds. Texas is the only state in the country that is on it's own power grid, and because of that it's not subject to Federal Regulations, including those that would have prevented the power grid from going down.

Just received an update on my build, pushed again from day of 8/24 to week 8/30. Second time this week I’ve had my date pushed back by a week. I suspect will be being pushed back again before too long. I receive automated texts from my dealer when my build is updated.

Per Bloomberg it appears to be a chip issue.

"Ford is closing or curtailing production at eight factories this month, including the plant manufacturing it's new version of the iconic Bronco sport utility vehicle."

At first, I thought this was referencing the Bronco Sport but the reference to the new version and not capitalizing the s in sport leads me to think otherwise. Imo it would also be a stretch to call a Bronco Sport iconic.

I dunno man... Then why not build amd deliver the trucks and have the dealer network install then when available. Not the first time it's been brought up.
The production line running is the absolute most important thing! Tow hitch? Fucking add it after... Mod bumper? Who gives a shit... Add it after.

GM is also temp shutting down because of chip shortages. It’s affecting all industries and probably will be felt till 2023.

Pretty sure the eight factories in this article are the ones that were closes or curtailed in July, i.e. article includes last month's info.
