I may be wrong but that looks like a piece of debris stuck to the fuzzy headliner. No? Can you see that on the outside of the top???

Its daylight, I ruled out any other issues.

The good news is you're getting a new one so you can slap any temp fix on there you want to keep water out. A little gray RTV would probably do the job and not stand out too bad.

Think about it: this is a manufacturing defect like no other. The new MIC is using the same design; only thicker.

Think that will fix the problem? A cardboard honeycomb with a plastic skin is proving to be bad engineering.

That's exactly what it looks like on my screen also, debris.
Not saying it is, it just appears that way in the pic.
I suppose we should berate OP for taking sub-par photos now.
