I'm in disbelief.

I've driven a manual most of my life. One of those cars was a 93 Eddie Bauer Bronco 5 speed that went 200k miles on the original clutch.

I've got a newer SuperDuty truck I love, and I loved that old 93 Bronco, but it seems the modern for manuals are just not durable, or have any longevity. Will be the last Ford I ever buy.

I'm in disbelief at the lack of information in this post.

Ask an ye shall receive, what would you like to know?

2 dr Badlands 7MT bronco with <900 miles on it clutch failed. Had it towed into the dealer. They say the clutch appears similar to the GSB 22-7005 image pictures, and thats the basis of their denial.

I don't ride the clutch, I don't drive it aggressively. Hell, I barely get the thing over 3k RPMs most of the time at all (in the short time I've had it anyways).

Bring it to a different dealer. Pretty common failure we’ve seen on here multiple times.

Edit: NVM, I overlooked the clutch part somehow. If that’s burnt, there little chance you’ll get it covered. I thought it was just the slave cylinder.

Any idea on what's going on here? I'm at 51K on a 21 and it's been butter smooth.

Did they add more info. Was it overheat? overspeed? I think there is some consideration here if the slave failed and leaked and you continued to drive it which resulted in slippage and overheat. With that said when a slave fails I have never seen one fail that caused a clutch failure. Only the opposite where someone accidentally rode the clutch by resting their foot on the pedal and the heat of the clutch took out the slave.

Either way, it is a pretty straightforward process to swap a clutch and slave. I don't know how you drive, but 9 times out of 10, an overheated clutch indicates driver error, even if they have significant time spent in a manual.

Can you get a pic from dealer?

I just rolled over 76k on my clutch and it hasn’t exactly been babied and still ok
Yeah, I’m around 60K and wouldn’t be mad if mine went out tomorrow. At least 6 other people have offroaded my Bronco and a couple were new to manuals. I’ve been down right dirty to my clutch and it’s still going strong.

I realize nobody is going to say they can't drive a manual great, but I've had 4-5 manual cars / SUVs / Trucks over the years, and never had a clutch replacement at less than 150k miles....

For one to go out on a brand new car in less than 1k miles to me is just bonkers -- even if they were a terrible driver. I'm not disputing the clutch is burnt up, but under 900 miles with a seasoned manual driver without some kind of manufacturer defect?

They simply looked at the first picture in the bulletin to compare to, said it looked similar, and then parroted the bulletin's "must have shifted into 1st or 2nd at high speed."

I asked for evidence of ANY evidence over revs in the PCM, they said they couldn't retrieve any to confirm or deny 🤷‍♂️

This is what happens when you leave your car with the garage attendant, even if you slip him a fin to take care of it. 😁

You would think a new $50k vehicle would be covered under warranty regardless of why it failed.
If it happened more than once I could under stand them denying the claim. Where is that FORD bot at that always asks for a vin#... I'm sure it'd help you out lol
