I’ll take the biggest powerplant that will allow me to row my own.

2.7 for the torque, never enough torque, I have no interest in rolling 35's with the 4cyl.

Currently very happy with the 2.0L I4 in my Wrangler. The 2.3 EcoBoost seems to offer the same HP and slightly higher Torque.

I'll test drive both 2.3 and 2.7 before making a decision (that is if I even move to the Bronco), but for now I lean toward the 2.3.

Edit:
I will not settle for the 2.3L as long as it only has Direct Injection (Carbon buildup issue on the intake valve). The 2.7L is both Direct & Port Injection which doesn't suffer from the Carbon Buildup Issue.
This post may change my decision. If the carbon buildup is less of an issue on the 2.7, I might go that route.

The 2.7L can be tuned higher as well, so comparing these two engines where one has a tune vs. one without a tune is ..... well.... irrelevant. Just saying.......

Fuel grade matters as well. I would def run 91+ in the 2.3 manual all year, but would feel ok running 87 in the 2.7 Oct-Mar.

What trims and packages are you getting? Are you getting a 2 or 4 door?

You can tune a 2.3 4 cylinder to 310 hp and 370 ft lbs of torque.
Sure but why when I can run a stock motor that runs 400 ft lb and not worry ever about imploding and warranty claims?

Cyber Orange 4 doors auto is the only certainty at this point. The trim and options are going to be price driven, so I am waiting on the configuration.

Not sure I want to get a first year model either, I did for my Wrangler and while I don't regret it, there are things that improved over the years that I would have liked to get. On paper Outer Banks would probably be the best fit, but I don't like to look of the painted fenders and mirrors.

I am with you Frank why get a little motor and tune when you can get a bigger motor with good power from factory. 2.7 twin turbo for me all the way.

Would the 2.7 be an expensive option over the 2.3?
