I seriously almost posted the other day that this thread was awfully quiet. Then BAM another one blows. Sorry about your bronco. It sucks Ford is just sitting on this.

You are correct. They don’t take a hit on their registration like an accident will, so there is that.I thought I heard someone say that it new engines don't go against the value but I could be wrong.
Most people wouldn't even know the vehcile had a different engine.Seriously? I would not pay sticker, certainly not above sticker for a Bronco with a new engine. But maybe that us just me.
It’s you! lolMost people wouldn't even know the vehcile had a different engine.
Well that is dishonest. Caveat emptor eh?Most people wouldn't even know the vehcile had a different engine.
You have a warranty, why would they buy it back?I created an account just to add my 2.7 to the list. My Bronco left me stranded Monday night. I had it towed to the dealership and they were finally able to look at it on Friday and confirmed the engine had dropped piston #1 and the engine would need to be replaced.
I had opened a case with Ford the day before, and about 30 minutes after receiving the bad news, my dedicated Ford rep for the case called with none of this information. After passing the diagnosis to him and then being asked what I needed from them, I requested a buyback at at least full sticker. For now, Ford is at least paying for a rental.
I had planned on owning the Bronco longterm, but after the nightmare of the 15 month wait for my vehicle and now an almost instant engine bomb, I have no interest in ever owning a Ford product again. First and last purchase of a Ford. First American vehicle too, and I'll never buy another.
I don't have a photo of the engine sticker, but my 2.7 was built the first week of August and had less than 1700 miles.
Exactly. It’s inconsequential. It’s like saying I wouldn’t buy a bronco with a warrantied part replaced. It’s stupid. Most people wouldn't even know the vehcile had a different engine.
Catastrophic failure of a new vehicle is way beyond a standard warranty repair.

It’s not “catastrophic” failure of a new vehicle, it’s failure of a specific part of that vehicle. Using your logic the touch screen going black is “catastrophic” a speaker failing is “catastrophic” a trim panel retaining pin failing is “catastrophic”. Could there be a danger associated with an engine failure? Most certainly. But to say it is beyond the standard of warranty repair is a sensationalistic comment and shows that you have some seriously rose colored view of the world. Obviously if this is a sky is falling moment in your life I’d hate to be you, that would be “catastrophic”.
Because some people are entitled……. Like this person. It’s all about them, they live in a perfect state of bliss where nothing bad ever happens. Right now they are probably on the phone with their therapist screaming “why” “why do I have to deal with this heartache”.You have a warranty, why would they buy it back?
Take 5 minutes and look at all the car companies and recalls that occur. If you used that logic you wouldn’t buy anything……All those recalls and you still want to buy another Ford.
Please make sure you go to the NHTSA website and report your issue.Catastrophic failure of a new vehicle is way beyond a standard warranty repair.
Sorry to hear about the blown engine. And ignore the a-holes here. Most are good folks but yes there are some that should just take their shit to Twitter already but instead keep showing up on this thread to be a dick. This is a great community. I'm so glad I joined so I could get roasted for complaining about my $55000 paperweight.
