I need help with a question I have. Does anyone remember if Ford quoted the Horsepower and Torque on the 2.7L EcoBoost in the Ford Bronco website when you ordered your Bronco?

I have been surfing the web and looking for quoted specs for our 2.7L EcoBoost engines.

I noticed that the Ford website quotes the 2022 MY Bronco with 2.7L at 400 lb-ft of torque.

I don't know if I have a copy of the 2021 spec, but it is possible on their page they didn't quote the higher values on the 2021 MY, but I don't know why they wouldn't. Which makes me a tad suspicious that Ford has dialed back the power and torque on the AB engines. Granted, they don't quote the octane power and torque relationship as Ford Authority did in their May 2021 article on their webpage for the 2022 MY.

2021 Ford Bronco Horsepower and Torque Ratings below from Ford Authority Page that is still up.

Ford 2.3L EcoBoost I-4Ford 2.7L EcoBoost V6
Standard 87 Octane Horsepower275315
Standard 87 Octane Torque (pound-feet)315410
Premium 93 Octane Horsepower300330
Premium 93 Octane Torque (pound-feet)325415

Final 2021 Ford Bronco horsepower and torque ratings come in at 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque on premium 93 octane fuel for the 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 (275 horsepower and 315 pound-feet on regular 87 octane fuel), beating out the original estimates of 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque.

Meanwhile, the 2.7L EcoBoost V6 is rated to produce 330 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque on premium gas (315 horsepower and 410 pound-feet on regular), besting the projected ratings of 310 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque.

Day 50 with my bronco at the dealer. No ETA yet on the new engine. Found out on Friday Ford customer service closed my claim the same day I opened it late January 🤬. Had to open a new claim….
Damn that sucks. Curious about the claim, are you having issues with the dealer on rental or communication? Or just trying to expedite the repairs through Customer service? Customer service basically told me if things were “progressing” they couldn’t do much. My plan is to push for extended warranty, still working on the best path forward.

I just want Ford to follow up with the dealer and get my bronco back to me. Extending the warranty will expected.

So anyone keeping track, wanted to note what I found about my October build today. My blend date was Oct 18 and my top has a build date sticker of Oct 21, the day before I got my built email. I’ve been loosly following along with this 2.7 saga, assuming I was out of the hot zone.

I looked at my engine sticker today and I am 21224. August 12, and the same day as three known failures tracked here. Surprised my engine was built over two months before Bronco was assembled.
I'm also 21224. How many miles do you have?

Remember, there's only a 3-year 36,000 mi warranty.

Ford is playing the odds and hoping all those engines that may be on the border make it another 30k :)
Those odds don’t work since a vast majority of the engines fail at under 5k.

Update - today two more engine build-dates in OP table & graphs -
line# 37) - 21224 - (12 Aug) . . . 4th engine on this date
line# 38) - 21214 - (02 Aug) . . . 2nd on this date

Now 30 total, and 28 are still within '2-month Containment' range.
As these blown engines accumulate, the two 'hot zones' become more pronounced. And same w the 'clear gap'
- 'hot zone 1' - ebd 159 thru 182 - 16 blown engines
- 'hot zone 2' - ebd 207 thru 224 - 12 blown engines

- 'clear gap' - still 24-days - 183 thru 206

Update #2 - When did Lima start using the new valves ?
- in Good Engines thread by @VictoryLights, you can see a strange thing
- in his table of engine build-dates, there's a gap of more than a month w no engines built between 21228 and 21266 - i.e. none between Aug 16 and Sept 23

? Why did Lima stop making Bronco V6's for more than a month ?
- I'd bet this is when they changed over to the new valves, approx 21266
- so @mountainbronco, getting back to your question last Thursday - yes, I believe your 21267 has the new valves

? Has anyone seen an engine build-date between 21228 and 21266 ?
- might narrow the timeframe when Lima changed over

5 years 60k warranty on powertrain really isn’t enough IMHO after an engine blows up

Good morning. I wanted to pass on based on the above that my bronco was originally selected to be built on September 14, 2021. On October 2, I was told by my sales rep that it had been pushed back 7 weeks, i.e.,. until Mid November, which is when it was built. I think I dodged a bullet. JD 21319.

Service replacement parts have completely different numbers remember. You would need the microfiche to tell how many supersessions that number has had. It is interesting that the prefix is the same as Bronco replacements we have seen...this was from an f-150 correct? Maybe @flip can check the fiche and see if 21 Bronco, and 21 f-150 both supersede to this number?
F150 went from a -C to ML3Z-6006-G with an engineering number of ML3E-6006-EA to ML3E-6006-EB.

Bronco long block has not changed. Service MB3Z-6006-A, engineering MB3E-6006-AA. I think they said to use a -E service unit for now that doesn't have the oil cooler installed but I don't think this is technically a part change, just a way to offer the most complete service assembly they can supply in a reasonable amount of time. Don't ask me why we can get oil coolers and the plant can't but it's like them not being able to install bull bars and I can get them all day long from the PDC.

Damn another 21224.

One thing to remember about this gap, thats right when Dirt Mountain happened. Bronco production was slowed to a crawl. My Bronco was assembled in mid October after production ramped back up, and has a 21224 2.7.

If you have a 21224 build date...how many miles do you have on it now??
