Was a very good video. He spoke about things that I did not know about the 2.7.

I do know with the mods I have, my 2.7 has definitely woken up and performs very well.

I skipped through it quick but doubt he mentioned the 2.7 has a wet belt driven variable oil pump thatā€™ll cause sudden catastrophic failure right after warranty is up. Might be easy to change when replacing the clacking phasers and timing chains though
You must be great at parties

Ford has used the same design for a while now with practically zero issues. Everyone just assumes itā€™ll fail because itā€™s in oil when in reality thereā€™s plenty of high mileage ecoboosts out there with the original belt.

Mine too. My two door probably gets to 60 as quickly as an 86-90 fox body mustang GT
Back in the day my old 93 Fox body hatchback with a lot of bolt ons did the 1/8 mile in 9.1

My 2.7L Big Bend Sasquatch loaded up with skids and heavy rock sliders does the 1/8 mile in 9.46 with an S&B air filer and E30. Have more mods incoming, so I should be able to beat that soon šŸ˜

I also let off too soon in this run, so it should be slightly better.

If you don't like the engine, get something else.
Pretty easy decision.
I love my 2.7, it feels like a V8 in fact I was surprised it made the same amount of torque the 5.0 makes but 2000 RPM lower.
Only time will tell how reliable these engines are, so far since 2015 they've done very well.

Have been loving the 2.7. My first real experience with a Ford engine and so far I am liking it. It has just the right amount of power. It sounds good. Not obnoxious. There are some things that do worry me but only time will tell. Some people are out there with 100k miles on this engine with no issues. Others have cam phasers at 10k miles on a brand new. But so far so good. Being optimistic.
