This is actually part of why cars used to have separate vent windows in the front side windows to alleviate the pressure that occurs. The phenominon is a lot like the glug, glug from trying to pour a soda too fast. Air has to have a path both in and out.

The "pour the soda slower" compromise is in how much window you have open, which will vary with speed and crosswinds.

Anyone notice the pretty intense wind buffeting that you get with both windows down in the 2 door (roof on/closed)? My hair looks like I got severely electrocuted every time I have the window down lol, looking to see if there are any solutions to this?
Leave the windows up or turn on A/C. But what do I know!! :0)

On a more door you would crack the rear windows to release the air swirlies and "boomies" but that's no a thing with a proper Bronco.
Perhaps an enterprising company could make a rear widow with a sliding glass vent?

I know it says do not use while driving but then so does your phone and we all know how well people pay attention to that warning!

Play with having one or both windows rolled up just a little. I think the 2-door (like most all vehicles... my wife's Forester comes to mind) has a resonant frequency... and one window rolled up a bit (or both) changes that frequency and changes the wind motion.

I always drive with the back seats down on mine, and I haven't experienced what you're talking about. The seats up would create a different wind-pattern I guess.

I don't get buffeting from just the windows down, but I do get buffeting when the top panels are out but the windows are up, so I just never drive that way 😄

My wife and I notice that with the top off the wind is much less than with the top on and windows down. That being said we are also used to my 94 mustang gt convertible that cavitates air backwards over your head like a wind tunnel 😂 either way it’s ALL fun ❤
