Is there a reason you are going with 16" rims? I would recommend looking at 17" rims, much better tire selection especially for C or D rated tires. Most of the 16" tires are E rated.
When I started thinking about the 16's it was to reduce weight and increase sidewall compared to the 17's in similar dimensions. This is mainly my daily driver, so anything over 34" is overkill for me. I'm trying to strike a balance between highway performance/comfort and having a more aggressive stance/look.

I do see better availability in R16 versions right now, although I guess that won't last. Everything's moving to bigger diameters.

What's your experience with how the load ratings compare? Aside from price.

This looks amazing. These pictures may have just convinced me to save the money I was planning to spend on a Badlands and get a Big Bend. (And of course use the extra money for more accessories).

Assuming no lift or leveling kit?

Thank you! No lift or level, but I’m considering a small level kit eventually.

Awesome, thanks for your response. Are you thinking a leveling kit just for looks or do you feel you need a little more clearance?

No clearance issues at all actually, if anything you could probably get by with a slightly larger tire as is. I was thinking of a level kit simply for aesthetic reasons.

Has anyone noticed full lock right with 34” rubbing against front sway bar with some compression? I’m about to down size from 34 to 33” KO2 because of this issue (and hoping it would solve it, thank goodness for Burt brother’s 30 day guarantee). Ironically noted in parking lot and full lock right…

(this is with a SVC 2” lift btw)

Funny how the same tire size from different manufacturers can look different. These look meatier than the BFGs in the original post.

the dealer said that's the biggest without a lift?
They lied.

Ford Bronco 33's tires fit Big Bend! As tested on my 2021 Bronco IMG_20220910_181155

295/70R17 (33.5" measured), didn't even need to pull the crash bars.

I would love to go with 295s but alas the only P rated tires are 285 from Mickey Thompson, Toyo and now Nitto.

Remember, unless you are running rough trails frequently, running a P rated tire makes more sense. It will make your paved and light trail work more comfortable, better fuel economy, quicker acceleration, and usually better wet weather performance. Save the heavy duty tires for an extra set of rims.

Anecdotaly, we've towed a 5400lb trailer behind our SUV up and down all sorts of logging road on P rated Open Country AT IIs without any issue. I was worried about them when we first got them but five seasons later they've done us just fine.

yeah. People don’t understand how tires are constructed and think that a LT offers magical puncture resistance. They allow more weight through higher pressure and lower tires pressures through the extra stiffness. While the extra layer of belts might stop some stuff, IMHO what punctures my tires would puncture a tank tread.

So just out of curiosity, how bad are the stock tires on the Big Bend trim?

Would they be OK for some casual offroading, like twice a year or so?

Could a Big Bend with a rear locker and stock tires do some of the trails at Holly Oaks, MI?

I have a friend who always pushes his stock big bend with no lockers, and he does really really well. I always doubt that his Big Bend will make it, but he has so far proven me wrong every time

I attached a youtube video from a trip we did. It should start at when he took on the trail.
