4-door half rack on 2-door?

I haven't seen that anyone has tried this and I can't see why it wouldn't work, but I'm not on the expert level as some here.

Will the 4-door half racks mount to the 2-door top?

As for the why, a few reasons:

1. I don't need all the length. I'm just putting a couple duffle bags up there. No tents, hard cases, canoes, mother-in-laws or other nonsense.

2. I have a Bestop Sunrider. The shorter 4-door racks look like they will allow for it sit flat on the roof as intended and prevent the rack from potentially wearing and/or tearing the fabric.

3. They tend to cost less. Since I don't need all the real-estate, saving a few bucks is always nice.

All the 2-door half racks use 4 mounting points, just like the 4-door racks.

Not "just like" I suspect. I imagine the front clamps on the 2 door aren't very deep in that groove? Probably just enough for stability but I bet it doesn't add any capability.
If you find a 4 door halfy, you might only need to trim that clamp piece down a bit
