I ordered the Trailrax half rack for my 2 dr Big Bend 2.3 auto non-sas on Tuesday. It arrived Wednesday (very fast) and I put it on this morning. Took about three hours, but I was going slow. The instructions could use a few tweaks like telling you they aren’t in the box but on their website. I did call the company with a couple questions. They picked up right away and were very helpful. Once put together and installed it seems very strong. They recommend two people to install it on the roof, but I did it myself without too much trouble.

I couldn’t find any pictures on the 6G forum of the Trailrax half rack installed on a 2 door so here you go.

How is the fitment of the front bracket that goes to the top? I was worried about it scratching or cracking the top.

@Mudlight there is a pad that adheres to the underside of all the mounting brackets keep them from scratching the top (the inside bracket bit you can see in the pic also has a pad against the top). The rear one fits a little better because of the indent in the top. Nevertheless, the front one seems to hold strong and I doubt it can move around. If I grab the top and shake the Bronco around, the top doesn’t move at all. This is a picture a front mount against the top.

My Bronco came with the factory rails and I added the Yakima platform.

110 dynamic and 450 static for the factory rack, my Yakima platform is around 60 lbs :(. The factory rack sits much higher, which I do not like. This rack is much cheaper than OEM plus Yakima as well.

I do not see Trailrax specify the weight limits without the additonal Pak rax system.

Does anyone know?

I've always thought it was dumb that the four door top is shorter but has two of those spots, and the two door top only has one...

@Rydfree I haven’t been at highway speeds yet. Others reported no change in mpg or wind noise. I’ll post if I notice anything.

@TrailRax Do you have weight specs for 1/2 rack without Pak Rax? So far I’m planning to put a ski rack on mine, but weight limits would be nice to know.

Is this a 2dr specific rack or a 4dr rack made to fit?

Looks like the perfect rack, you can remove the front roof panels more easily and still utilize the front accessory points for lights or a visor.

How securely does the rack clamp on to the roof? I wonder if you could use the rack as a lift point for removing the rear roof?
