Looks like 74Weld is a lot closer than previously thought. Can’t wait to get our hands on a set!

I thought with portals, you basically lose the daily driver aspect becaust the gearing gets so low you can't drive them on the freeway?

As many problems as portals would solve, I don't think I could ever spend that kind of money :(

What are portals, other than doorways to other dimensions? 🤔 🧙‍♂️

Kinda true. If you re-gear the Bronco to 4.10 ratio in the diffs it’ll calculate to 5.0 as your final drive ratio with the portal. Perfect for 38-40” tires with the 10 speed imho.

Nope. Extended brake lines and as mentioned before, I’d re-gear to keep the rpms more suitable for daily driving. You don’t have to re-gear but I would.

I did reach out to Quinn, and he shared a few details: The gearbox units will be the same essentially for all makes. They are 4 gear spur gear design based on their race portals, which obviously have undergone real world durability testing. Jeep and toyota versions are done, Bronco is going through tweaks for the brake hoses/bracketry etc, but he expects them done soon. His intention has always been to "mass market" them (of course this takes time and testing to do right). There will be a version for the D60 semifloat that Dana is selling for 6g. He claims no noise @80mph w/the gears they use

Too bad they can't do a 1:1 gear ratio. I guess they assuming people would be putting much larger tires on.

Man I can't imagine going down the freeway at 80 with portals but if that's true.. that's awesome.

Badlands 4.46 gears with 37s probably perfect SAS with 4.7 and 37” tires is probably not 80mph friendly.

Looks like 4.10's are available with the Dana Ultimate Bronco axles.

I have the 4.7 gear ratio in my Bronco, would putting Portals on be to much of a regear to my highway driving experience? I am currently running 37"s. Should one have to regear to put the Bronco back at a final gear ratio that falls within the 4.56-4.88 range?

You can re-gear if you want but the owner of 74 didn’t and said he does mind it with the 38’s
