Adding SAS a waste if going to Fun-Haver Stage 1 mods later?

Would the 4.46 in the auto non-sas BL be enough to turn 37s? Not planning on doing it any time soon, I’ll probably wear out the 33s before I start thinking 35s or 37s. With a 2-3” coilover/UCA lift and 37s, I feel like the 2.7 should do fine with the 4.46. Biggest tire upsizing experience I have was 34s (285/75/17 Fallen AT3) on my 2016 F150 with 3.73 rear and the first gen 2.7, 325hp/375tq. It seemed to have no problem with them, 1-2 MPG hit but that’s it. With the 10 speed, 400tq, and 4.46, it should be fine, right?

If you don’t get Sasquatch you will need to regear.
Except if you go from 35’s to 37’s you should regear anyway, so save the Squatch money a regear a standard BL for 37’s properly.

I remember the good old days running 37s on a 95 FSB with 3.55 gears turning out a whopping 240hp. That had alot of horsepower compared to the Samurais and Jeeps running around. It wouldn't win any drag races but I think this "must regear to go up 2 inches in tire size" is a bit of malarkey. Tire size can definitely makes a difference in driving characteristics but not THAT much.

The Fun Haver mods are pretty good. That's a high quality lift and good FOX shocks, although I caution to not overlook upgrades from Bilstein.

Without BL or Sas, you'll need more upgrades, but what is more the question is how you plan to wheel or use your Bronco before upgrading?.......
Those control arms and skids for the rear arms are an agreed must for any rocks, the 2" lift is a good one, but everyone has different opinions on wheels and tires. The rear bumper is nice as well.
Yep
Someone else mentioned gearing, that's over $500 alone. You'll get wheels and tires regardless, so Sas or not, sure, you'll change them out, but you'll do that anyway.
That's $500+ per axle (gears, bearings & install kit for each) before installation. ;)

I ran 37s with a crawl ratio of 97 :1
4.88s in the axles, 4.0 first gear, 5.0 Atlas T-Case.
There were a lot of times where that was too low and I had to use second gear as a result.

Bronco Manual has a crawl ratio of 94.75:1 due to that crawl gear.
I think it will do just fine with 37s and 4.70 axle gears.
Yup, 110 HP early bronco 302's, which I've been told on this board 1000 times how much of a POS that is compared to even a 2.3, didn't need anywhere near the overall gear you get in today's rigs to run 37's.

Heck, I ran around for quite a while with a stock 140 HP 400, T-18, and 4.56's on 44 boggers back in the day, @ only 56.5 :1 (6.32 X 1.96 X 4.56). It did pretty well.

Even my current crawler has low compression 400 on pane (so less HP than gas), 2.46 C6, 1.96 TC and mogs 7.56's overall or 36.5 :1 on 43 SX's.

It's shame they haven't perfected electric turbos already. Lag and low RPM possible real world compression ratios of high boost/low RPM, are the only things keeping these new motors from an old big block feel (well, if you could turn off all nannies).

You’re right, per axle and before install.

Either way you try to cut it, Sas just makes sense and is a good value for those who want to wheel. I’ve made the statement before, it’ll provide a good platform to build off of if you’re not one to do your own wrenching.

One fast upgrade I’ll make is frame mounting rock rails; welded. I can’t do this myself (too soft of a guy), so I’ll get a shop to do it and the rails on this Fun Haver build are exactly what I need.

No, I”m not a crawler, but I do encounter them (rocks) and some interesting obstacles when wheeling. When I get the Bronco, I’ll be doing even more.

You'll be fine. A lot of people are overthinking this.

We don't have 3/4 speed autos anymore.

So when you guys say "SAS" you mean Sasquatch package, not solid axle swap?
I thought there was a horde of D60's lurking about...

This right here, plus on BL it's only a $2,495 upgrade on the BLs. The gearing, tires, and wheels are worth that upgrade.

Thinking same, weld rock rails and the rear shock skids first.

Who is going to come out with the first full suspension kit to mimic @bradlovell 's 4600 class BKO?

That is a little more than suspension, that is suspension, portal axles, upper & lower control arms & a bit more. Be prepaid to donate a kidney for that setup $$$$$

I drove the Granger Big Bend 2.3 MT with 4.46 and true 35’s this weekend. Sorry to burst everyone’s bubble, but it runs just fine. It’s not the 2.7 with 34’s, but it is just fine. As said, the object of 37’s is to go slower farther, not faster nowhere.
