How do I check this, I just got my new FOB and tried to program it several times, only to get a message on the dash that programming failed

Also, make sure all Fobs are face down when you do the programming.

You can’t. It’s enabled unless a dealership has disabled it, which is unlikely

Any of the Fobs on Amazon can be programmed as long as you have the 2 original fobs using the instructions in the manual. I did it.

Where did you get the Fob you are trying to program ?

eBay, it said it was compatible but I’m thinking maybe not

Don't give up.

It took multiple attempts myself. I thought the key programming was set to disabled at first.

Follow the sequence posted earlier precisely. It sometimes can be difficult to tell if your in accessory mode or time-out wait mode when hitting the on/off switch.

If the programming is successful, a bunch of lights will flash and the display will tell you it's been programmed.

Thank you, I'll try a few more times. However, I get a message that "Key Program Failed" or something, which tells me I'm doing the sequence correctly, but it is not able to program the new key.

The FCC ID is different from yours though.

I did a search to see the difference and realize the only difference in the FCC ID is two zeros at the end, therefore I think the one I got is correct. I'll try several more times to program. I only got this FOB so I can have a 3rd stashed away in case I lose one. I've programmed several fobs over the years, and never needed 2 other fobs, although the other cars I got remotes for all had keys ('99 sebring, '98 trans am, '02 trans am, '08 element).

I just purchased an additional key fob (4 button like original) from Amazon. It appeared to program ok, got the message on the display that " Programming Successful ". The new key fob proximity feature unlocks the doors upon touch and the Start works, but the fob buttons to lock/unlock etc do not function. Any ideas out there. Maybe I need to purchase the key from Ford?? Thanks

Possibly try programming them again. After I programmed mine they were both fully functional.

Gave it another try. Message displayed Max number of keys programmed. Still no button functionality. There's probably someway to reset. I guess I'll just keep the fob. I got incase I lose one.
