Honest question that I'm hoping someone can chime in on.

I have heard the final assembly by ADV a few times but I have also heard customers will have to assemble the top as well. Has any light been shed on what will be assembled by ADV and what the customer can be expected to do assembly wise?
I'm currently running the top as a beta tester for John and the team. I put mine together at the shop with him. It's a very easy install, but you will need 2 sets of hands.

I would estimate for the average person it's about a 2 hour job. For the 3 piece roof, the rear section is shipped flat in 4 pieces: Large flat top, and two sides and a rear window. They all bolt up, and take gaskets that you need to install.

The top is fantastic, you'll love it! Below are some photos with a side by side to a stock one and a link to my IG where I tested standing on it.

Cheers!,

That IG post is nearly 8 months old? Also, if you're a beta tester for it, how long is it going to be in beta? Is this like Google keeping GMail in beta for 10 years or something?

Maybe a picture of the factory floor with today's copy of the New York Times would help, like a proof of life sort of thing.

If you need proof of life, just check the recent posts.... it's still on there.

I started testing it in June, the ADV team can comment on when it will be released to the public. I just wanted to give everyone an idea of what it takes to put one together since I actually have.

Some changes were made to meet the very high expectations John and the team have for their products. Making new casting dies cost a lot of money and time, so trust me they want to start delivering them ASAP! Their glass is the best in the industry and this top is as well IMO.

I wheel with AJ frequently so I would say with all the things we do, the top hasn’t given AJ any issues. I’m happy to know using AJ as one of the testers they went back to the drawing board to redo a few things based on the feedback so I know I should be getting a quality top. I’m pretty sure AJ might have the record with warranty replacements with the Ford MIC top and he hasn’t once voiced any concerns regarding the same adv beta top he’s been running for months.

I’m batch 1 so, hopefully, when I get my top soon, I’ll give you my personal evaluation. I honestly like the soft top but the hard top was originally my wife’s idea so I didn’t mind waiting. And yes there are several options out there and probably more to come. So if you’re in the market to buy one asap, you just need to decide quick and get on a wait list for any of them.

TBH at the end of the day, Fords top could have owned the market if they had just took to heart the urgency to fix the issues with the MIC top. The adv beta testers haven’t had issues, from what I can see the reviews of the Anderson composite tops have been good, and soon turn offroad will be shipping. The common theme between these 3? Fiberglass… maybe the thermoplastic sheet with the MIC top is the issue. 🤷‍♂️

I'm leaving today to do a duck hunt on the coast so it will be interesting to see how it goes down here for us.

Who was first?????????? One $699, another is $399. 🤪 No rhyme or reason. All made/re-made by the same little hands in China.
This is absolutely hilarious and true. If you’ve waited this long for your top, give it a few more months until the Mabett copy is available.

I believe this is the longest post I have followed so far. Started following, since I was originally interested in a one piece top. Now a few other options seem to be available this year as well, so will be interesting to see when the tops finally get released to the public for usage. Right now I hear all saying that their new tops are great. I missed the holiday season, but close enough for this. lol

I do think the ADV top will be great, it was just handled wrong. VERY WRONG. Marketing, messaging, the whole thing ended up being a mess, and I think has hurt their brand. But as with sports, winning cures all. So if they can deliver on their latest promises, and people give the top a great review, well that may help to salvage the damage that has been done.

With many vendors now doing aftermarket hard tops, vendors will need to pay attention to what product they are bringing to the market and how that is delivered to the customers. Competition makes everyone better, and the consumer wins.

I have been waiting for close to 2 years now may of 2022. Communication has been terrible, ask a question they get back to you with cut and paste replies that basically say like it and keep waiting forever or take your ball and leave.

Very poor customer experience for such a huge investment. To figure the pre order folks have given them a interest free loan for years and we get cut and paste email reply has left a terrible taste in my mouth.

On top of that having to explain to my wife for 2 years that no our money hasn't been stolen they are just x,y,z excuse has become hard.

Every month since order has been just another month then we will ship, just 2 months more because this or that then another and another and still 2024 and waiting for "Batch 1".

It also bothered me they made all those youtube videos how great the top is and told people in comments 6 weeks and they could have one when I've been waiting since 2022.

Stop taking more orders than you can FN make. What that tells me is I do not matter as a customer at all.

By the time I finally get the Hardtop I might be out of the bronco or at least getting a newer one unless a newer shinier toy takes my attention.

A hardtop shouldn't take longer to make then a subdivision.

I hope this thing is perfect, it better damn well be perfect the length of time I have waited for this thing.
