I’ve been taking notes of all the others making a level platform in the 2DR without removing seats.

Plywood, 1x6, hinges, hardware, carpet and time. Folds up to put seats up and relatively easy to remove. Good platform for the dogs and decent storage.

Thought I’d share.

This was my starting point. Had to make some adjustments along the way. Had to taper the lid to clear interior trim when opened. Few others as well.

Looks great! How much did the platform add over the rear seats? You added there just to keep things nice and level, keep the dog's feet from falling between the seats?

I didn’t want the mutts messing up the back of the seats and I just wanted a level area. The panels pretty much rest on the seat back although I put a small piece of wood between the seats to carry some of the weight. Seats are about 4 1/2 “ above the floor. Then I’ve got 3/4” plywood over that.

Nice, I hope to do something along these lines. I took out the seat bottoms but I don't think I want to bother with taking out the seatbacks...

My son did this in his '99 Jeep Cherokee, you did a great job, looks awesome. This has inspired me over spending $1k and removing the seats.

this is best I've seen..good job. Do ya think 1 person could sleep on it in a diagonal position?
I'm 6'2" and I don't think I'd even be close. It's probably a little over 5' diagonal. I suppose anything is possible but not very comfortable. (y). Contemplating the roof top tent someday.

Yes, I just picked up the Mabett ones to keep the platform off the carpet seat back. It also gave me a bit more of a steady surface. Probably not needed but I wasn't sure.

Well done my friend. In fact, I’d say this is the best version yet!

I love this. I do want to do a seat delete just to use it as extra storage and to transform the car into a camper.

If you don't mind doing me a favor and measure something...how many extra inches you get by moving the driver/passenger seats as far forward as they can go? From your diagram you have 47.5in already so whats the measurement from seats forward from the wood?

Thanks. :)
