I’m thinking that rear tire needs to be mounted on a bumper sooner than later. Anyone seen any good rear bumpers with a tire mount?

Sorry for the n00b question - but, what’s the benefit of that?

When you go with bigger tires, the tail gate hinge may not be able to support the weight of the bigger tires. If the tire carrier is mounted independently on the bumper, more weight capabilities...PITA when you have to open the tail gate cause you have to open the carrier and then the gate...some Jeep manufacturers have it where it opens both at the same time.

Ah, yes. That makes sense. Thanks for clarifying.

I really liked AEV’s Jeep JK Rear Bumper and Tire Carrier. It took the tire load off the swing gate, increased departure angle, mounted my Hi-Life jack and a 11 gallon fuel caddy. However, currently they don’t show anything for Ford. I hope ARB will make a rear bumper that also has a tire carrier and a place for fuel and a jack.

RTR has one but they ditched the rear proximity sensors.

If I remember correctly, the 4WP concept version has a prototype bumper like that. Go look at it.

The RTR concept build had a rear bumper tire mount. Only one I have seen so far.

Here is the link to the video. Vaughn covers the tailgate tire carrier at 3:46.

That RTR swing out looks like a possible place to mount RotoPax’s.....keeping that weight low.
