1. Your shackles can become compromised in a way that they cannot be removed.
2. Makes your vehicle looks like it has ear rings.
3. You have a tow hitch but may not always have your hitch installed, correct? So, install shackles when needed.
Some answers to the above.
1. install with some grease or anti seize.
2. More like a lip ring not ear rings duh!
3. Hitch may or may not be stored in the garage but with other recover gear that stays in the truck, and I hate extra stuff in my recover bag, so shackles for sure stay where they belong, on bumpers. Easy storage and ready to use when needed and one less thing to forget, like the stupid Hitch which is in the garage....lol

For those that may have been curious, the OEM WARN winch recovery brackets have the same width as the recovery points on the Modular Bumper which means the S.I.T.H. Shackles will cross right over. I.D. of the holes are near identical too.

Hopefully not much more than regular shackles.
What, exactly are 'regular' shackles? I've looked around any the only brand that is comparable in quality would be Factor 55. Are their products in the regular category?

I think these have been popular... probably what I would have bought if it wasn't for you coming up with the SITH.

GearAmerica Mega Shackles Orange (2PK) | 68,000 lbs Capacity - Stronger than 3/4" D Rings | Tow Shackle + 7/8" Pin + Washers | Securely Connect Tow Strap or Winch Rope to 4x4 for Off-Road 4x4 Recovery https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Q6TF8L...abc_QCX518BYC3HE8J4A3FWZ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Is S.I.T.H. a very simple anagram for what you say before needing these? 😂

I'm thinking the AR | SITH wouldn't be in your 'regular' category. The 2, 18-8 Stainless Bolts alone for the SITH are $70.00 from McMaster.

Crazy that S.S. is that expensive.
Also, seems that Factor 55/Crosby is the only Made in USA shackles I could find.

Also, your link is for a 3/4" shoulder diameter, but all the 3/4 shackles I've seen use a 7/8" pin...

I'll try 7/8" on that shackle mount tomorrow. From what I remember from the scan data, 3/4" fit pretty well. I'm game for bumping them up to 7/8". That's definitely not going to reduce cost.

edit...

I just looked. The 7/8" shouldered bolt would be $82.00 ea.

Agreed, $70 each!! Maybe S.S. is not the way?
