I wish there was a club with a C172 and maybe a A36 for travel near me. I would join that in a second.I toyed with buying for several years. Every time I get close, one of the club planes needs major work and it makes me glad I rent. You would hope your own plane is better taken care of than a rental, but you never know. Ownership gets pretty expensive with insurance, maintenance, hanger fee, etc. thrown in on top of the cost of the plane. My club currently has 2 super cubs and 4 182s I can fly, so I think I'm content to keep renting for now.
