I reserved a base 2 door, which will be a sasquatch with a 7 speed manual in either white or silver. Going to add the roof rack and switches. I am tempted to just go with a badlands in cyber orange. I wish ford would offer cyber orange in the base.

The base without squatch just looks so wimpy now that I've been staring at the more aggressive concepts and trims for so long. I'm also not a fan of those steelies, they just look "lame". If I didn't squatch the base, I'd definitely swap the wheels and tires right after I left the dealership

For the base squad ?

If I could get lockers a la carte, I'd add them to a base with steelies and just slap some skinny 33's on and call it good. Unfortunately, they decided to screw the DIY crowd by welding the ring gears to the diff carriers, so I won't really save much adding lockers later. Squatch it is. I may see if I can trade my squatch wheels for some base steelies and cash to fund some 33" KO2's

I put in my reservation at granger last night. Figure I could take a trip out there with the family and drive back having a good old time. I’m just really undecided now with the base fiasco, now there is rumor white top is coming out in 2022. Who knows maybe even X-plan will be back. I’m starting to lean towards BD with a few options or BB with a lot of options. The squatch novelty is starting to wear off on me, I know I’ll never use it to it’s full capability but I still want it.
For what I do (Forest Service roads and BLM desert roads) , I really just want the rear locker. SAS seems to be the only way to get that on base. Black Diamond is pushing my budget a bit and has some things I absolutely don't need (aux switches, burn-your-butt-in-Arizona vinyl seats), and it seems like you can add lockers to Big Bend without SAS, but I really do not like the look of the grill and wheels on that one. And upgrading to Big Bend costs about the same as basesquatch which has both lockers. I keep wishing they add something to B&P soon that suddenly makes me see one of these as the better option. If locking rear diff were added as an option to base I might even convert my July reservationto an order. Otherwise, I need to use my October reservation for the @Granger Ford deal to be able to save up more money since what should be a less than $500 locker is going to cost me over $5000. ?

Ford offers a la carte rear locker on Ranger and it looks like Big Bend. All their promo stuff says Base Bronco has all the necessities, but in my house a rear locker is a necessity. I would love the look of the Base with the 16" steelies, but Ford doesn't want to let me have $500 rear lockers without spending $5000 to get SAS or upgrade to Big Bend (which is ugly) or $7500 to upgrade to Black Diamond.

Yes, I would love to be able to get a rear locker a la carte, and hoepfully Ford gives us that. I but I can't justify the price jump to get it. Here is my price comparison for the builds that I am contemplating. In in Indiana and tax is 7%.

Anyone getting base without Sasquatch? Concerned about lack of locking rear diff option?
Rear locker is one of my few non-negotiables. If Ford suddenly offered it a la carte on Base, I would use my July reservation to get a Base with the rear locker and the added steel bumper and my life would be amazing.

And Ford really needs me to get the Bronco sooner, because a lot of the kids where I teach will see it in the parking lot and get their parents to buy them fully-loaded high trim models for their birthday.

Are you listening Ford???

I just wish I could get rear lockers with those steelies (although I would paint them white).

I love your spreadsheet. I've been meaning to do something like that. I know each of us has slightly different needs and seeing it spelled out like that is awesome.

My non-negotiables are 2-door, manual trans, rear lockers. My added wants are heated seats (which Ford seems to not want me to have), a tow hitch (which I could add later since I don't need it until atleast 2027), the headliner, and the steel front bumper (and the rear steel bumper but Ford has conflicting info about that on different pages). I think about the Black Diamond, I love the 17" steelies and it has my non-negotiables, but it's a lot more money.

If they offered rear lockers on the base with 32 or 33" tires I would have a difficult decision to make. The way things stand now I'm happy to have the $5800 option to squatch it. Despite some complaints on this forum Ford really offers a flexible build.

Getting Base 4 door and plan to keep my eye out for a totaled BD or up and snag a rear axle for $900 in the next few years. No rush.

Are Ranger axles the same? I would almost put money on it they are.

Agree. Most of them/us just like to complain like spoiled kids. Deep down the majority of us are just crazy excited to be getting a Bronco someday. I think part of the griping IS because Ford has offered so many options.

My only real tough decision for me would be that if rear lockers were an option on base, I might be tempted to use my July reservation instead of my October Granger deal. That might drive me crazy trying to decide.
