I would also contend that Black Diamond is a Special Edition. It has a unique interior and a unique off-road and unique wheels. it is a low-price-point special edition off-roader.
Considering that it is supposed to be a tough offroader, I think Ford dropped the ball by not putting the M210 and locker availability in it.
Think budget Badlands....

add the M210
Full manual availability (2 &4 doors)
Basic suspension
keep the 32's
33's optional ??? (w/ basic suspension still)
e lockers optional ??? seems like it is 3-400 on the 150/250s (per diff) ....$800 full locker package???

Might be an issue making this happen since all the programming needs all the gear...I dunno. Just typing out loud here for a tougher budget offroader option but short of full $5k Squatch option.

Anyone going with the Standard electronics package?

My BD comes to: $44,730

My preferred BL comes to: $46,060

Difference: $1,330
Wish that I "could" stay with standard. I just have it in my head that I "need" the dual climate control.

I’m afraid I’ll be constantly stubbing my toe without the ambient footwell lighting.

I’m willing to bet the reason Ford did this was to push people up a trim. If they let us have all the goodies with lesser trims we would all save money and be happy and Ford wouldn’t make as much of us. Same reason if you want any higher package goodies inside the bronco you need to go up a few trims.

The justification against that is doors off/roof off doesn't provide climate choice.

I’ve seen pictures of the BL with and without driving lights in the bumper. Are these accessories or something included with upgraded trim packages?

My current internal debate is BD with 2.7, squatched, and standard pack.

Or BL stick, with a few accessories and standard pack.

Both are about the same price. I just wonder what resale will look like.

At least in the Jeep world, the Rubicon is always worth more than a Willys Sport. Squatch and 2.7 throw a mean curveball into that equation.

Scenario #2

Black Diamond, 4D, soft top
2.7L Auto
Mid package
Tow package
SQUATCHED

VS.

Badlands 4D, soft top
2.7L Auto
Mid package
Tow package

The Badlands figures to be $600 more. For that I get signature lights, sway bar disconnect and most likely better tires for daily driving. But I’m giving up the front lockers. Did I miss anything?

The BL isn't squatched. Why do one and not the other?

Comparing the two stances. I think the 33’s would be better for all the on-road activity.
