Is it confirmed that the power seats (that come with leather) do NOT have memory options?

I don't understand the case for power seats.
10 people sharing a car? Ok.

2? You need to let the car idle a few minutes after starting anyway.

It's not a stand alone option so I think they stick you with it.

Manual seats for me!

All power seats WILL eventually fail and can be very difficult to replace depending on what position they got stuck in. Try unbolting the seat rails when the seat failed and is blocking access to those bolts.

I have worked for several independent shops and have replaced DOZENS of seat motors or related mechanicals on everything from BMW's to Hondas. I have not replaced a single manual seat mechanism.

Also, the parts to repair power seats usually aren't inexpensive if you choose OEM or similar quality replacements.

My F150 has 267k miles, my Volvo 240 has 300k+ miles (infamous broken odometer so unknown mileage) and my BMW 320i had 330k with no manual seat issues whatsoever.

My 98 Grand Marquis has power seats and they started to fail around 100k.

I love technology and convenience, but for the seats I say keep it simple.

Its more the OCD. My wife and I will be sharing this car and the other commuter. Its like a mental thing in regards to getting it back to that "perfect" position

But ay. Isn't stopping me

I can’t decide on which interior to get on the Badlands. I’m not doing off road driving it’s going to be my daily drive wondering if I don’t get power seats if I’ll regret it. Thoughts or suggestions????
How may times do you adjust your seats?
If its just you driving do you need power seats?
If you want Leather you can go with Katskin its less then the power seat option..

If you aren't driving off road at all, perhaps the bigger question is "why am I getting a Badlands instead of Outer Banks?"

That being said, I suggest you spend as much money as possible. and you won't want a boat interior if your goal is to max the showmanship.

My wife will drive it too, so manual is easier for me. Hop in, pull the lever and slam it to the back and I’m good. It’s not worth giving up MGV and better floors to get slow moving motorized seats. If it had memory seats like our Escalade that knows who is getting in and has it set for you...then I could see an argument for it, but I still wouldn’t want it on an open air vehicle that will see a lot of dirt and off road.

I lived in the 80's, Decepticon gold isn't so bad!

Okay, reality aside (80's had some of my best albums!), Black Diamond would save you about $7,500 for essentially the same interior. That's a LOT of coin to save an hour dying seat stitches. If you don't stump up for leather in Badlands, then Black Diamond is the hot ticket.

(based only on the info you have presented in this thread for your vehicle needs. If you have more detailed needs, and my suggestion above does not meet them, well you didn't share them so the advice is worth EVERY penny you paid for it, possibly even more!)

I have a 90 Acura Legend with 330k miles and power seats that still work but it's a Honda...

I think a lot of folks are underestimating the "utilitarian-ness" of the washout interior. Some of the FJ cruisers had a very similar flooring. Basically turns the cab into a tin can between the plastic hard top and rubberized metal floors. They will wash out easily but they will also scuff and "scratch" and be firm under foot. They don't really look that great 5-10 years later if they aren't protected. But it does depend how firm / soft the rubber is.

If you're not washing out the floor frequently I think most people would be much more comfortable with carpet. It will have better acoustic comfort for conversation, road noise, and music, and will be more enjoyable day to day. Carpet with quality rubber mats works well for 99% of people. Now don't get me wrong, it's awesome ford offers it, but it's certainly not for everyone and I bet a lot of people will end up putting carpet liners over the rubber (which could be the best of both worlds?)

As far as the leather vs MGV, hard call and I would have to feel the material to make a choice. Whichever one will fade less and scuff the least from jeans would be my preference.
